Healing hands

Chapter 1
At the moment on HIH Hogwarts I seem to be studying anything and everything to do with healing. Potions, Plants, Animals. Anything that comes under that category seems to be being covered. So, I would like to tell you about some of the times that we have healed people. There are people in and out of the infirmary, I won’t include those. I would prefer to stick to a few particular cases.

The first was in 1993, you may or may not understand that one of the professors that came to Hogwarts was in fact a werewolf. I want you to understand that this is actually a disease called lycanthropy. I was aware of the disease because it was my uncle that would make him up the wolfsbane on a regular basis. This would help with the transitioning from human to wolf and keep him as normal as possible. Others would sometimes remark on it but we had cover stories to go with it. Everything was thought of. On various occasions he would make a large amount and stock it.

It wasn’t just Severus Snape that healed people. Myself and I’m sure people before me, had been unfortunate enough to become stuck in what I call the “space between”. This meant that when I transfigured, I couldn’t get out. I was stuck in a space that nobody could reach and I was unable to transform back. Luckily, I was seen by either our Divination teacher, Professor Trelawney or by the Transfiguration teacher, Professor McGonagall. This got me out of the mess that I had got myself in.

People would also come to our house. To visit us, where we had a basement that was set up for potion making. In the summer of 1996 and possibly before this, Professor Dumbledore was a regular visitor. He came to collect a potion of a healing nature due to his hand being crippled. What could be done for him was only a little. It was really only a case of prolonging and keeping him out of pain rather than anything else. I dealt with a similar case just last year for a close friend. These cases are more to do with being incurable, perhaps cursed and helping them spend as much time as is possible with loved ones.
