The first time I truly understood who Sirius Black was, was in 1993. I was now better from my “weakened heart” and staying with Cedric Diggory and his family. His father, Amos Diggory was going a little bit frantic because a killer had escaped from Azkaban. I was really interested but they seemed… unwilling to give me any details. The Daily Prophet was kept out of my view but Cedric would stuff articles he thought I should read in the tree outside.

According to the newspaper… “Sirius Black, infamous prisoner of Azkaban… eluding capture…massacre twelve years ago… Black murdered thirteen people with a single curse.”

I could feel my heart pounding. This wasn’t good. I needed more.

I knew Mr Diggory must know something. He worked in the Ministry!

Finally, he was home.

“Mr Diggory?” I said. “The man that escaped…”

“Hush hush!” he said “You can’t think about things like that! This is a holiday! A time for fun!”

“I just wanted to know…was he a Death Eater?”

He stopped what he was doing. Nobody spoke. “Yes. He was.” It was all I needed.

From that Cedric and I started on a mission to collect as much evidence as we could. It became a sort of holiday hobbie.
