At the end of term, we took our usual exams. Nobody thought that we would have to but Professor McGonagall was determined to run the school as smoothly as she could even with Professor Dumbledore not being around. I didn’t do too badly but I think that I really should have done much better. Professor Snape was not happy and decided to use Cedric as the excuse however Dumbledore did remind him that it had been Tom Riddle that had been the problem and that he should not be quite so harsh on me. To say I got off easy is an understatement.

I was allowed to go to Leanne’s house for the first part of the holiday. It was becoming a ritual. Her mother is a muggle and it was good for me to spend time with them. I was still allowed to send owls to Cedric and get the daily prophet, which we had on a daily basis. I had a great time with Leanne. We generally played games and found out what life was like in the muggle world. Her grandparents didn’t know much about magical life so I had to be careful around them but it was fascinating.

Every year my uncle and I would go on holiday together. We would apparate somewhere or use a portkey. Perhaps I had let it slip that I was interested in things to do with my family history, I’m not sure, but he knew. The year before our holiday had been to France. We went to the memorial service of Mr & Mme Flannel. This year we went on a trip around and about. I wasn’t quite sure what that was going to mean. I sent postcards though. I found out afterwards that the Weasleys were going on a summer holiday too.
