"I’ve been staring at the edge of the water
Long as I can remember, never really knowing why"
Izuku started singing, looking up. He jumped off the tree, walking forward so he was staring down at the water lapping the beach.
"I wish I could be the perfect son
But I come back to the water, no matter how hard I try"
Izuku sighed, pushing his hair back, and started walking down a path, looking at Eijirou following him, moving through the village, then into a small forest, and right before the beach again.
"Every turn I take, every trail I track
Every path I make, every road leads back
To the place I know, where I cannot go, where I long to be"
Izuku pushes the leaves blocking his path out of the way, and takes off running towards one of the boats on the beach. He climbs on, swinging around the mast
"See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me
And no one knows, how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I’ll know, if I go there’s just telling how far I’d go"
Eijirou walks up to him, an oar in his mouth. He tilts his head and Izuku picks up the oar, slamming it down on the ground.
He turns and walks back up to the village, passing a villager who tosses him a coconut.
"I know everybody on this island seems so happy on this island
Everything is by design"
Izuku tosses the coconut into a passing villager’s basket, walking by some children as Eijirou is trapped by a carpet that some others are laying out.
"I know everybody on this island had a role on this island
So maybe I can roll with mine"
Izuku starts marching up the mountain to the stack of stones.
"I can lead with pride, I can make us strong"
He picks up a stone, and goes to place it down, but he hesitates, turning back the way he had come.
"I’ll be satisfied if I play along
But the voice inside sings a different song
What is wrong with me?"
Izuku’s eyes are drawn to the ocean again, and he runs down, dropping the stone.
"See the light as it shines on the sea? It’s blinding
But no one knows, how deep it goes
And it seems like it’s calling out to me, so come find me"
Izuku runs to the boat, sliding to a stop. He picks up the oar as Eijirou starts bouncing around. He looks out to the horizon
"And let me know, what’s beyond that line, will I cross that line?"
Izuku pushes the boat off the beach, climbing in. His pants get a little wet, but nothing too bad. Eijirou is sitting in the front, watching the horizon
