Evan Perez!
Chapter 3
Today was a day that every student in all three schools had waited for with extreme excitement. All eight friends had entered their names, they were sure that none of them would come out though. After all the two champions were Harry and Cedric. Ella's eyes glassed over at the thought of Cedric. But then again, Harry was supposed to speak parcel-tongue but James got that instead. Jocelyn really wanted to be chosen. She thought that it would be wonderful to fight a dragon and fighting Voldemort sounded kind of fun. Well, maybe. The others were very mixed about the whole thing.
"The Durmstrang champion is Viktor Krum!" Dumbledore announced. Viktor let out a whoop of victory before proceeding to the room Dumbledore had told them to go to.
"For Beauxbatons, Fleur Delacour!" he called out. Some of the other girls from her school burst into tears. Evan raised his eyebrows, shaking his head.
"And the Hogwarts champion is Evan Perez!" Dumbledore finally called. The friends could have sworn that they'd seen Dumbledore wink at them. Ron cheered louder than anyone. It was quite amusing that Evan had been chosen. Everything seemed to happen to this group of friends. Down on the Hufflepuff table Cedric seemed quite disappointed. Ella suddenly clasped her hand over her mouth. Cedric died in the tournament. But if Cedric wasn't there... Was Evan destined to die? She looked wide eyed at her Hufflepuff friends. They gave her reassuring looks.
"He'll be fine," Rhianna whispered to her. Ella pursed her lips, wishing she could believe her friend.
"Harry Potter," Dumbledore called. Ron shot him a dirty look and so (much to the surprise of the other friends) did Lucas. The friends in Hufflepuff smirked to themselves while the friends in Ravenclaw had to hold back chuckles at Harry's face. It was quite comical. Hermione nudged Harry forwards and he walked cluelessly up to the side-room. The teachers walked in shortly after him. Dumbledore turned to face Harry.
"Did you put your name in the Goblet of fire?" Dumbledore asked him CALMLY. (Notice the calmly!) "Did you get one of the friends to do it?"
"No sir," Harry responded. It had taken him a moment to work out who Dumbledore meant by 'the friends'.
