Lunch
Chapter 6
The
Great hall serves lunch for one hour each day between noon and one o’clock.
Professor Afolayan looked up at ten to one, and found the hall mostly empty.
She stretched, and walked around for a moment, before pausing beside the Ravenclaw
table. There sat Dian Frost, Rachel North, and Argus Fittleworth.
“Good afternoon, students.” She
said, smiling.
“Hello Professor!” they cried in the
own ways. “How are you?”
“Busy, as usual. Tell me, where is
Mr. Altaer?”
“Scott?” Dian asked. “He’s in the
dorm working on something. He was in the library before that.”
“Am I supposed to believe that?”
“No, but that’s probably what he’d
want me to say. Besides, you asked.”
“Somehow, I feel better just hearing
you say that out loud. Well, enjoy your lunch.”
“Thanks, Professor, same to you.”
She smiled sweetly, purred, and
continued eating.
Professor Celeste breathed a sigh
and took her seat. She piled her plate with the wonderful food Hogwarts has to
offer.
Both the Headmaster and Professor
Nivera were absent. Perhaps on this particular day, the food would last past
one.
If
not, I can always continue marking.
The food disappeared at exactly one
o’clock. She was part way through her ice cream cake as it vanished.
She sighed, severely disappointed,
and went to the mark book.
As
two o’clock approached, she put together the notes, stood, and walked towards
the Ravenclaw dorms.
This
ought to be good.
