The Beginning

Chapter 1

Professor Celeste sat at the table in
the empty dorm room. It only took a second before Scott Altaer came down the
stairs.

  “Oh, hello Professor!” He said.

“Hello, Scott.” She replied. “I have
good news. The board is not going to make you pay for the table you destroyed
last month.”

  “Oh, good.”

“But all the same, I’m not going to
let you get away with such a reckless use of magic.”

  “Of course not.”

  The professor raised her eyebrow.
“You want a detention?”

“No, but you wouldn’t appear late at
night just to tell me I was off the hook.”

  “I suppose not.” She replied.
“Therefore, I expect a 1000 word paper on Ceres by two o’clock tomorrow
afternoon, on my desk.”

“Ceres? You mean the dwarf planet
nine hundred and fifty kilometres in diameter in the asteroid belt between Mars
and Jupiter?”

  Professor Afolayan glared. “Yes.”

  “Cool. I can do that.”

  She stood. “You seem excited.”

  “Maybe I’m related to the
Granger’s.”

“I strongly doubt that. Two o’clock,
Mr. Altaer. Goodnight.”

  She left.

Scott took out his pen, ink, and
parchment, and started a note on what he already knew about Ceres.

  In the hallway, Professor Celeste
opened the door to her rooms, ready to retire for the night.

The following morning, she awoke to
the sound of chaos erupting from the floors below.

Since she was annoyed by the sound,
she went down to the Great Hall. Chapter Two.

Since she was confident in the
supervision of the Great Hall, she turned over. Chapter 3
