My BFG
Chapter 1
Out of all the people I will write about, I have probably known Rubeus Hagrid the longest. I was told about him when I started living in the woods. I was told that he was the big friendly giant BFG for any muggles. I was around five years old and my uncle knew that it was possible that he would come into the Forbidden Forest at some point. There was no point in denying it. Everyone knew that Hagrid was game keeper of Hogwarts, so he made journeys around the grounds around the day and most knew that he was very loyal to Albus Dumbledore. Meaning that if anything was found out he would tell Dumbledore and no stone would go unturned.
I don’t know how much about me living there because I did used to speak to creatures within the forest and I know that he was friendly with many of them such as the centaurs and Aragog. I used to watch him from across the lake and became fairly familiar with his schedule. No matter what people say he does like to keep to a certain time plan. I used to know where he would be and could generally set my clock by him. At the start of term, he would be getting students on and of the train, then people would be at feast and dinner halls and then times that he went to get different plants, depending on the moon, speak to different creatures etc.
Eventually, inevitably, I was discovered. I was seven years old and Hagrid was the first, part human to discover me. He felt that he had no choice but to tell Professor Dumbledore. I don’t think I became angry with him. As much as I became angry with myself. I remember Hagrid sitting me down and explaining
“It’s no place for a little ‘one to be in a place like this, it’s dangerous see.”
Personally, I didn’t see the dangers. I spoke to snakes I had my own type of life there. I tried to explain this to him but he wasn’t budging.
“I can’t let you stay on your own, Professor Dumbledore will want you safe”
I tried to explain that I was safe. It still didn’t work. He went up to the castle and came back with Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape.
