Chapter 1
Over 1000 years ago the four founders of Hogwarts met. They set up a school for young wizards and witches. Their different personalities placed them into the different groups. Godric Gryffindor was the founder and head of the Gryffindor house. He was brave and strong and was admired by younger warriors like him. His bravery gave Gryffindor the emblem of a lion.
One day a young girl was sorted into Gryffindor, her name was Alanna Bermuda. She had an Irish heritage and had recently moved to London. Unknown were her magical abilities. She was a half squib much to her parents disappointment. Godric liked her almost immediately. He liked her feisty attitude and her longing for proof that she belonged at Hogwarts just as much as anyone else.
She put on the sorting hat,
"Gryffindor!" Yelled the sorting hat.
"Yay," ,Alanna squealed as she got of the new stool she had been sitting on just a moment before,"mother and father will be ever so please!"
Excusing herself she got down from the platform and joined the polished Gryffindor table. The glint in Godric's eye when she looked up was unmistakably full of pleasure to have her join his house.
At the end of the sorting ceremony Alanna was called up to the head dining table (strictly for teachers) by Godric and shook hands with the little girl that was trembling with pleasure.
"Nice to meet you, Alanna", He said.
"And you to", Alanna replied.
"I was wondering whether or not you would be joining me for your transfiguration class tomorrow?"
"Yes of course sir." Alanna replied to his question.
"I am absolutely positive that you will do just fine!" He had said.
"Thank you sir," she said blushing through her hair, "but i am almost half a squib so I probably won't do that well." she said in disappointment.
"Well, we shall see." he said, "You need to go to your dormitory now, farewell."
"Goodbye sir, thank you.", she said and walked away. That night she slept soundly having a pleasant dream.
