Many witches and wizards across the globe do not know anything about how Hogwarts came to be, this is something that needs to change, after reading this article, there will not be any doubts. A thousand years ago, there were four great sorcerers: Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor. These four great people had wonderful traits. Helga was very kind and patient while Salazar was shrewd and ambitious. Godric was brave and chivalrous. Rowena was very intelligent. All four were great friends and they knew that nothing could get in the way of their friendship. So the project was started, these four friends were going to build a school.

The reason that the friends decided to make a school has only recently been uncovered. It had been found that these four friends were all very intelligent and they wanted to pass their knowledge onto others. It took them a while to decide where they were going to build it. They kept suggesting places but all of them had problems. Some weren't big enough, others were in hideous destinations. It was Rowena Ravenclaw who made the final call. Rowena had grown up in Glen so she knew Scotland well. She decided to take her friends to a beautiful lake to see what they thought. The four friends agreed that this was a place worthy of their school. The four spent days coming up with plans and eventually the group decided that Rowena's plan was best. Rowena had designed a beautiful castle with many classrooms. Each founder wanted to add his or her own touch. Helga wanted massive kitchens to home happy and well-treated house elfs for cooking. Salazar wanted dark and ominous dungeons. Rowena wanted to make a spacious library while Godric wanted nothing more than a tall tower. The founders decided that they'd need a method to keep muggles at bay so they designed a mechanism that would make muggles see a ruin with a sign that says "Danger Keep out".

Throughout the years, Hogwarts has changed a lot. There is now lots of house rivalry that was never there before. There are many notable groups of students who have changed Hogwarts over the years. These groups include the marauders and (of course) the golden trio. With these students there was never a dull moment at Hogwarts.

But what really makes Hogwarts, Hogwarts? Hogwarts is made Hogwarts by the teamwork, spirits and happiness of the students, teachers and ghosts.
