1 - Philosophers Stone
Chapter 1
In my last book “Thanks JK” I explained a little about me and my role. But perhaps I need to go into detail a little further for people. Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone (sorcerer’s stone for some) is the entrance to your view or Harry Potter and of course the magical world, his background etc. It was his first year of Hogwarts and you meet the characters along with Harry such as his friends, professors, enemies.
I was a year above Harry Potter and therefore you do not see me in any classes, I was never part of the Quidditch team and yet I am, it could be looked upon as a hidden clue, all the way through the story.
I am of course a Snape. When I was at school, that is the name that people knew me as. My uncle is one of the main characters. A coincidence, perhaps. However, at this point in my life, I was told to “take care” of Harry. It was the first time I was allowed on the Hogwarts Express and took care to make sure he got there too. In the book, this role is overseen more by Hagrid and the Weasleys, also great friends of mine.
There are many similarities between myself and Harry, firstly that we speak parceltongue, that we have a connection to Voldemort and that our parents died when we were infants. We are also in Gryffindor and were both considered to be possible Slytherins when we were sorted. This provides us with another clue, that potentially, we are alike in a different way. That we share a character trait or flaw, depending on your point of view due to the fact that we are Gryffindors.
I say that I am hidden and indeed I am. I spoke earlier about quidditch, which I can’t say I have ever been very good at however, you can find me written in as the golden snitch. Ironically by boyfriend also used to play seeker for our school quidditch team but he was in Hufflepuff. If you remember correctly, the snitch is given to Harry by Dumbledore with a Riddle inscribed on it. “I open at the close”.
My last point was for Neville Longbottom. A great character. I always ended up being the person to fetch help. No matter what things always happened to Neville.
