Emily Potter's Story

What if Harry had an older sister? What if she was famous and not him? Everything would be different, wouldn't it? (Feedback is very welcome! And I'm still updating!)

The Whomping Willow

Chapter 19
I sit in my dormitory, chewing the end of my wand (REALLY bad habit, I know) and looking at the map. I scan my eyes over the secret passageways, and I see him! In the shrieking shack! Yes! The wand sends sparks into my mouth and I grimace in pain. I collect my bag of Siri's stuff (His wand, leather jacket, some food and a couple other things).
"Char! I'm howling!" I call. That's code for; I'm going to see Sirius.
"Ok, see ya in a bit," Charlotte says. I wave and sprint off through the halls. When I arrive at the tree, I remove my invisibility spell.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" I chant. I move the twig over to the knot and press it. Turning into my wolf, I hurtle to the shack. I see a ragged looking man. His face is waxy and his hair is ridiculously long, his eyes are sunken. I hold back a sob. He freezes in fear when he hears my footsteps. I transform, knowing he doesn't have his wand.
"Siri," I say, in a strangled sort of whisper. He looks up at me and then shakes his head as if he's going mad. "Siri, I'm here. It's me."
"Emmi?" he asks. I smile in response. He embraces me in a hug.
"Eww! You're disgusting," I joke weakly. He laughs.
"Where's Harry?" he asks in confusion. The sob actually erupts this time. "Shhhh...It's okay."
"It-It's not," I cry through my tears, running my hands through my hair in frustration. "Harry hates me because I know you're innocent."
"You do?" Sirius asks in delight, ignoring my first statements.
"I'd hardly be here else," I deadpan. Sirius cracks a smile.
"Touche," he says. I open up my bag and hand him his wand. He grins and takes it. He conjures up some flowers and teddies. He hands them to me. "Emmi, Happy Birthday."
I grin, "You remember? I only told my friends two years ago and then Quirrell abducted me and removed their memories so they forgot that conversation. Harry's not talking to me, so I haven't had my birthday celebrated this year, and last year, Harry forgot."
"Of course I remember Emmi's bi-," he stops, registering something else I said. "You got abducted?"
I nod sadly, "And tortured."
"What!?" Sirius cries. I roll up my sleeve that shows bitemarks and the words. "Are you a vampire now?"
"No silly," I say. "They cured that each time, but they realised that was one of the most painful things they could put me through. If they made me a vampire, I would be unable to feel pain. Other than the cruciatus curse which I also endured."
"Oh, Emmi," Sirius says. I look down at one of the teddies.
"Is that SnuggleBear?" I ask in delight. Sirius smiles sheepishly.
"No," he says slowly. "It's identical but I took SnuggleBear to Azkaban and I couldn't take him with me when I escaped. Sorry."
"It's fine," I say truthfully. "It's the best present I've got since..."
Sirius smiles at me.
"He kept me sane, Emmi," he explains. I smile, with tears forming in my eyes.
"That's brilliant to know," I say sincerely.
