Emily Potter's Story

What if Harry had an older sister? What if she was famous and not him? Everything would be different, wouldn't it? (Feedback is very welcome! And I'm still updating!)

Innocence

Chapter 17
"-and a toofbrush in the colour of your choice," Stan was saying. How did we end up here? Well, long story short, Harry blew up Marge and now we're running from the law. Harry accidentally called the Knight Bus and here we are. Harry pays Stan for our tickets and we walk in. Stan picks up his newspaper and I see Siri on the front of it. I grind my teeth in frustration. My uncle is innocent!
"He was on the muggle news," Harry says. Well done brother.
"Well, yeah, he's a danger to everyone, he killed 12 muggles," Stan says.
"Did not!" I burst out. I cover my mouth with my hand as I realise what I just said. No one else believes that Siri is innocent. I can't go saying that. Well now I have though, I might as well keep it up.
"Yeah he did, sweet," Stan says. Ugh, he's belittling me.
"First off, don't call me sweet, I ain't that young," I say bitterly. "Also, I know that Siri is innocent."
"Siri?" Stan asks incredulously. "You're lucky I know that you're Emily Potter, sweet, otherwise I'd be calling them aurors to drop you into Azkaban."
I bite my tongue to refrain from saying anything or sticking my tongue out at him.
I'm awoken by a loud bash.
"We've arrived," Harry says. Then he walks off without me. I sigh. Harry's mad at me for telling the truth. I guess Amulet's the only friend I'll have now if she was telling the truth about forgiving me.
"Harry, Emily, come with me," Fudge says. We follow him. When we arrive in a private room he lectures us on our recklessness.
"We have a killer on the loose," Fudge finishes.
"Nah," I say.
"I beg your pardon?" Fudge says in astonishment.
To be irritating, I speak deliberately loud, as if I were talking to a deaf person, "I said, no. We don't have a killer on the loose. We have an innocent man who has been wrongly accused on the loose."
"Don't mind her," Harry said. "She's just tired."
"Very well, you may go," Fudge says, still looking a bit suspicious. Once we're out of the room, Harry pulls me to the side.
"What the hell was that about?" he asks. "What are you playing at?"
I scrunch my nose up at my brother and walk to the room Fudge said was mine.

"Emily, Harry could I have a word?" Mr Weasley says just as we're about to get onto the train.
"Yeah, sure," we say. Harry shoots me a dirty look. That's how our relationship is now, dirty looks.
"Recent information says..." he starts.
"We know, we overheard you telling Mum," I say. "According to you, Siri apparently wants to kill us. Don't worry, we're safe, cuz he doesn't!"
"Goodbye," I say and then get onto the train. The first compartment I find has a man sat there. Remy.
"Remy?" I say softly. He "wakes up". I'm sure it was a fake sleep.
"Emmi Bear!" he cries joyously. "You still recognise me?"
"Of course," I say.
"I'm your professor now by the way," he says. I laugh.
"Oh well," I say. The door slides open and Remy "falls asleep" again. Harry, Ron and Hermione walk in.
"Who's that?" Harry asks sharply.
"Re-" I stop as I notice his case. "Professor R.J.Lupin."
"How'd you know?" Ron sneered. Those three haven't been the nicest to me since Harry explained the situation.
"It's on the case," I reply tartly. " I'm off to find Amulet."
Ginny's been taking Harry's approach in the situation and it's leaving me deflated. Hopefully Amulet will understand. Strangely enough, she's next door.
"Hey Ams," I say.
"Hi," she replies. She looks so gloomy and pale; worse than usual. "I know it was the diary, I do forgive you."
"Thanks Ams," I say sincerely. "How you holding up?"
"Walburga just died," she says with a grin. Walburga is Amulet's grandmother and she's evil. Poor Amulet has been forced to live with her. "She was fuming that Dad escaped though! You should have heard her going on about "that blood traitor"."
"You know he's innocent though?" I ask, hoping sincerely that she'll say yes.
"Obviously, otherwise Walburga would like him!" Amulet sighs. I smile at my friend. We talk for a while until the train comes to a stop.
"Good, I'm starving," Amulet says. I shake my head at her.
"We're not there yet," I say. "Let me go check."
I walk out and see an evil creature. I remember when I went to visit Siri in Azkaban that one time with Remy. It's them, the dementors. I walk into my brother's compartment and pull out my wand. When the dementor comes in, I raise my wand so does Remy.
"Expecto Patronum," we shout. The dementor goes away.
"I can't believe they've hired dementors!" I shout. "Dementors to watch out for an innocent man!"
"He's not innocent Emily!" Harry cries. Remy shoots me a confused glance and I shrug.
"I presume you've got chocolate for this lot, Remy?" I ask. He nods. "I'll go back to Amulet and have a chocolate frog."
