Emily Potter's Story

What if Harry had an older sister? What if she was famous and not him? Everything would be different, wouldn't it? (Feedback is very welcome! And I'm still updating!)

Game Day
Chapter 13
"How about we play truth or dare?" George suggests. We've been in the Gryfindor common room for about an hour now and so far we've only had one kid (a first year) come in and question us. I figure it's smart not to cover it because I have a feeling he'd be able to tell.
"Sure, why not?" I shrug. Cedric, Charlotte and George all nod frantically.
"I'll go first," Fred says. "Charlotte!"
"Yes?" Charlotte says, giggling.
"Truth or dare?" he asks.
Charlotte thinks and then answers, "Truth."
"Bore-ring," Fred sings with a fake pout. "Hmmm. What's the worst thing you've ever done?"
Charlotte starts fiddling with her hands looking very guilty, "When I was about eight. I used my magic deliberately to tie up these girls who were teasing me. I made it so it was pretty much impossible to get them out. The ministry of magic had to get involved in the end."
"That's the worst thing you've ever done?" Fred, George and I ask in unison.
"You've done something worse than that?" Cedric asks incredulously.
"Well, yeah," George says. He pretends to think hard. George and I follow suit.
"Well, there was that time we stole from Filch," I say, still pretending to think hard.
"And when we made the house elfs not get the food to the students," George says.
"That was you?" Cedric asks. I smile sheepishly.
"Hey, us Hufflepuffs got food anyway..." I say.
"You know what? I'm fine not hearing your other feats," Cedric says.
"Okay then," Charlotte says. "Emily, truth or dare?"
"Dare," I answer immediately. I know she won't be too bad with it.
"This is hard, cuz we can't leave the common room. Uhhhhh. Prank owl Honeydukes ordering everything they have," she says. I grab some parchment and write my letter to them. On cue, Batty comes in and I hand it to her. She senses something is up but takes it anyway.
"This is getting slightly dull. How about never have I ever?" Cedric suggests. Fred and George nod. "But we'll do it that you lose a knut instead of drinking??"
"Never have I ever dated someone," George starts. Cedric, Fred and Charlotte pile knuts on the table.
"You haven't?" Charlotte asks me incredulously.
"Of course not," I say. "I'd have told you if I had, besides, no one wants to date me. And I don't want to. We're troo young."
"No we're not," Fred says. I raise my eyebrows at him.
"And about the no one wants to go out with you, that's just a pile of rubbish," Charlotte adds. "I'm pretty sure most boys want to date you. You're kind, and pretty, and famous."
"Thanks," I say. "I think."
"Never have I ever stolen from the kitchens," Fred says. He must have said it for a joke because he certainly has. All 5 of us put down a knut into the pile. Then we burst out laughing.
"Alright, never have I ever cheated in lessons," I say. All four of them place knuts down. I look at my friends incredously. "Char? Ced?"
"Only once!" Cedric says.
"Surely you've noticed I always cheat in History," Charlotte says.
"NO!" I say.
"My turn! Never have I ever not told my friends something," Charlotte says. I'm the only one who puts a knut down. Charlotte raises her eyebrow. "Spill."
I shrug, "It's nothing important, it's just that I didn't tell you that today is my birthday."
"What?" They all scream flabbergasted.
Suddenly, the portrait hole opens up and in comes a swarm of Gryfindor students. I wave to Harry and Ron. They walk over to me. "Hey lil' bros."
"Hi," Harry says and Ron waves.
"How was your first day?" I ask them.
"Uhh..." They look at each other and explain about how they got a massive scolding from Mcgonnagal for being late. I'm rolling around laughing by the time they finish.
"How about you? And why are you guys in here?" Ron asks.
"Yeah, Seamus says he walked in earlier while we were supposed to be doing lessons and you guys were all in here," Harry says.
"Oh. It was eventful," I say with half a glance at the others. The portrait hole swings open again and a little boy points at us. Behind him is Quirrell. Quirrell rushes in and grabs my arm. The one he's engraved. He starts pulling me out of the common room. I look imploringly at my friends. I see that they're tied with invisible ropes to the sofas. He waves his wand and uses what I can tell is a memory charm on the others.
He summons a house elf by the name of Riggy.
"Take us to Malfoy Manor," he orders Riggy.
"Of course, master," Riggy says shakily. She grabs Quirrell's hand and disapparates us out of Hogwarts.
"Sure, why not?" I shrug. Cedric, Charlotte and George all nod frantically.
