Lunchtime
Chapter 2
"Who's playing?" James asks his friends while he pulls out his pack of Uno cards. All of the others stick up their hands and James starts to deal. "Who's going first?"
They all look at each other.
"I'll go," Evan says. James puts the card in the middle and Evan takes his go. "Rhianna, your go."
Rhianna takes her go and then says, "Lebron."
"Uhhh! I can't go," Lebron complains and then picks up. The game continues until...
"Uno and out!" Lebron says.
"You can't end on a plus four!" Lucas yells as he clambers over the table.
"Oh my Merlin," Ella sighs in disbelief. Eloise just giggles awkwardly. "How many times?"
"Yeah I can," Lebron retorts. "Show me in the rules where I can't, then. Go on."
"James doesn't have the rules you idiot!" Lucas shouts back, not actually using the word idiot.
"Really guys? Every time?" Rhianna says.
"No you can't end on a plus four!" Jocelyn adds in.
"Jocelyn? Really? Don't encourage them," Ella scolds. In the distance a bell is rang and all eight of them dart over to buy food. They join the back of the queue.
"So, argument over?" Rhianna checks.
"What's done is done," Ella adds.
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 in you go," Mr Greengrass says.
"Really?" Eloise sighs to herself as all her friends go in, leaving her alone. Eloise always seems to be the one in situations like this.
"In you go then 1, 2..." Eloise doesn't wait, she just wonders in and buys herself some chips the second he says "in you go". She picks up the chips and exits the canteen.
"The others didn't wait for me," she says in dismay. She walks over to a space outside in the school that the eight friends have claimed as their own. The other seven aren't there. She starts eating her food.
"Hey! You didn't wait for us!" Ella shouts indignantly.
"I thought it was the other way round!" Eloise says in defence. The two girls start giggling as the others walk over. James throws a chip at Lucas. Lucas throws one back and suddenly a full out chip fight is taking place.
"C'mon guys, we need to get to lesson," Ella eventually says. They grab their bags and walk over to their next class.
AUTHOR'S NOTE- IT'S REALLY DODGY, SO SORRY ABOUT THAT. I DON'T KNOW WHETHER I'LL DO ANY MORE BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO WASTE TIME ON A BORING STORY THAT NOBODY WILL LIKE. IF YOU DO (FOR SOME ODD REASON) WANT MORE, PLEASE OWL ME BECAUSE OTHERWISE I PROBABLY WON'T.
