The Possibilities of a Patronus M-R

Chapter 7
67. Magpie
Magpies are the guardians of opposites. With their sharp color scheme, they have been symbolic both of ill omens and of love; of irrational fear and friendship; of material security and change. They are unpredictable, flashy creatures that can symbolize illusion and witchcraft…and yet they are also single-minded in their focus and can represent monogamyYou having a Magpie as your Patronus means that you are similarly unpredictable and yet that spontaneity makes you comfortable. A two-sided reputation would not intimidate you – haters gonna hate, after all, who needs them? You like to know what is going to happen in the future, and because of this, many of your actions are precise and well-thought out. Much like the folklore that revolves around the magpie and shiny objects, you too seek out positive endings in the hope that you can make the right choices to get you there. Carefully thinking out what you’re going to do is very difficult indeed, and is something you can rarely be spontaneous in if you want it to work out in your favor. you are willing to put in the time to ensure that everything will turn out in the best possible way. As a patronus, the magpie will be there whenever you find yourself afraid of the future. No matter how good the next few day, months, or years might look, there is always the fear that something might go wrong, or that the “shiny” perfect outcome that you’re pursuing isn’t as wonderful as you think it is. The magpie knows what it’s like to fear the “shiny” things, the promises that look too good to be true. It will be there to remind you that there is beauty in life, even if it is not what you expect. That you can be happy even if you didn’t hit your predictions spot on. In battle, your patronus will be there to help you prevent a future of darkness and despair. It will push you forward, even when you begin to falter and dread starts to consume you. The future, the magpie will remind you, will always be full of good if you’re willing to fight for it. Even if that good is merely the beauty of a shiny penny or the sun glinting off the feathers of a small bird taking flight into the sky. This guardian will be there whenever you are at your lowest to remind you that nothing is for sure – nothing is in stone – and will help take down your fears through cunning and illusion in order to give you the time to get yourself together. This guardian will then be right beside you like a true friend when you are ready to fight back in your own spontaneous, yet cunning way.

68. Manx Cat
The Manx cat is a very special breed of cat, as they don’t have a tail! They are also in a way, a ‘watchcat’, as they will growl in a threatening way if anybody seeks to harm them or their owner. They’re even tempered and affectionate creatures, that like to follow their favourite person and help where they can, and will even talk back to you if you wish to speak to your silly friend. A Manx will also learn tricks, walk on a leash and play in water, and will listen to you when you say no. Having this feline as a patronus means you find being allowed to show off your abilities a comfort to you, and your ego (though it isn’t a big one, you do have one!)Having a Manx Cat as your Patronus means you find comfort in abnormality. You are one of a kind and you love it. You are independent and self-sufficient, and will always take time out to take care of yourself. This doesn’t make you selfish at all – you can be good around people and can be a good friend – but you also are proud of who you are even despite any of your eccentricities. If anything, you flaunt what makes you different. Should you ever find your world turning to gray and the silence of depression starting to pound through your ears, this Patronus will come for you. It will leap gracefully from your wand with flawless balance, striding with utmost confidence toward your enemy as if it were ten times its actual size, because it knows there’s nothing to fear. Numbers do not win a battle – no matter how many dementors there are, they will all fall en masse at your feet. And soon your own confidence will come flooding back, and you will take your place beside your guardian. his as a patronus represents an owner who find comfort in protection and love. The owner of this patronus may also be intelligent, social, and observant.

69. Marsh Harrier
Having a bird of prey as your patronus means that it will attack anyone who tries to harm you, and as the Harrier can remain with a partner for several years, this shows your loyalty! Marsh Harrier young also develop rather quickly, referring to your own quick maturity and ability to act like a person much more senior than you. The Harrier will defend you to the end, and be sure to make sure your enemy is annihilated, not just subdued. A marsh harrier patronus can represent an owner who is extremely smart and witty. As well as that a marsh harrier patronus can represent quick thinkers who often think of new ideas. Also, a marsh harrier patronus can represent an owner who is extremely caring, and wants everyone to be happy, while still being themselves. Having a Marsh Harrier as your Patronus means you find comfort in seeing the big picture. You are an individualistic, sensible person. You tend to operate best by yourself and like to take the time to look over everything from a safe distance so you can plot out your next step. Your patience and practicality couldn’t be better suited to your house – it makes you a calming presence to the people around you, and it also makes it easy for you to communicate effectively with others. If your emotions should ever blind you, fragmenting your vision and reason, this Patronus will soar out of your wand, its white body flaring like a star. All at once, your tears will clear like clouds clearing from the sky, and you will see things in sharper and brighter color than you ever have in your life. The beauty will calm and revitalize you, and you will point your wand at your enemy, leading your shining, winged, Patronus in a charge against your foe.

70. Mastiff Dog
A Mastiff patronus represents kindness and courage. A Mastiff also represents affection, calmness, and an overwhelming amount of dignity. A Mastiff patronus does not give up on a fight, and continues to do whatever they can to help there family and friends. There share this kindness with everyone they meet. A Mastiff should be a combination of grandeur and good nature, courage and docility. He’s always dignified, rarely shy or vicious. A well-socialized Mastiff treats normal strangers with polite aloofness but will step between you and anyone or anything that seems threatening. Normally it’s not necessary, but if the threat continues, he’ll escalate his response as needed. Thieves who are foolish or unlucky enough to break into a home with a Mastiff will find themselves cornered until a family member arrives to call the police. Mastiffs dislike conflict between family members as well and will step between arguing spouses or a parent punishing a child. While he might look tough on the outside, the Mastiff is a sensitive dog who can become shy, fearful, or aggressive if mishandled. The thing that brings you comfort is loyalty. Whether it is to your family, friends or a cause, you find yourself taking your loyalty to the extreme. When people need the reassurance that they are safe and protected, they usually come looking for you. You keep a distance, when it comes to people you don’t know, but you’ll come running to aid your friends when the need arises. Though gentle and usually not aggressive you do not mind standing by your friends to protect them. Manners are also a big factor in your decision making, as you find being rude completely and utterly useless.

71. Mink
Minks are both ferocious and playful semi-aquatic mammals. In some Native American legends, minks are portrayed as troublemakers. In others, they are seen as lucky and bring success in hunting or fishing–or even gambling. Minks teach us to be aware of our actions and our surroundings to protect ourselves. If a mink is your patronus, you find comfort in stability. Having this soft and fluffy creature as your patronus means you find comfort in being safe. Like the Mink, you can often feel like you’re trapped in a corner and like someone or something is after you, and you like to make sure your doors are locked before you even CONSIDER relaxing, and you may have even asked a security guard to walk you to your car, or sat up the back of a bus to make sure you can see EVERYONE, and so nobody can get behind you. Soon, the danger will be over, and you can breathe easy, that your patronus will help you slip and slide to safety. Minks require rich environments to survive, and thus you find yourself at peak performance when you are at a secure point in your life; this could mean financial stability, intellectual stimulation, or one where you find strong emotional support. This does not necessarily mean you crack under pressure or do not do well in less-than-desired conditions, however. It means that when you are able to step back and analyze the challenge, you are more likely to be able to overcome it with ease. If you can gain control of what’s happening, you know everything will come out a-okay.

72. Mole
A mole can represent an owner who has very enhanced senses. As well as that it can represent darkness, maybe representing an owner who has been through a great deal of darkness who is still looking around for light. Having a mole as your patronus means you are often wise beyond your years and believe in what you feel, not what you see. You don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but dive below the surface to discover what is underneath. Things are not always what they seem and you are able to look through to the truth. This is an important trait in making lasting relationships that are healthy and strong or separating yourself from toxic people. You trust your instincts and have faith in yourself and others. You trust your heart over your head and understand the value of being in touch with your ‘inner eye’. When you feel unsure of yourself, hopeless or troubled, your patronus will guide you through. It will show you the path and restore your faith.

73. Mongrel Dog
Mongrel dogs are a mix of all sorts of other breeds, and while you can’t always tell what breed they primarily are, most dogs are very playful, cheerful and affectionate creatures. They’re the healthiest kind of dog you can get, as they tend to not be riddle with health issues like ‘pure’ bred dogs who have been inbred for centuries, and they’re often the kind found at shelters, so if you can, PLEASE go adopt a little furry friend! Your patronus tells me you take great comfort in being surrounded by people who care about you and your interests, and love to feel appreciated and loved, and after a tough battle, your patronus will snuggle up to make sure you’re okay, making sure to give you a lick on the face. Dogs are loyal creatures, sticking to their family and protecting their owners when they need to, and defending their owners from anyone who poses any sort of threat, and your dog will do well to defend you in any type of battle. You love the loyalty your patronus will show, and if you can be patient with it while it learns to help you, you will have a defender who can save you from anything. Having a Mongrel Dog as your Patronus means that you find comfort in resilience. The nice thing about this, though, is when you do make friends, you will use those same walls to likewise defend your more sensitive loved ones from harm. You are a very loyal and protective friend, quick to defend your inner-circle if they are threatened. If you ever are forced to confront the kind of endless, relentless night that drains your resolve and steals your breath away, this guardian will come from you. It will leap from your wand and stand beside you protectively, and its presence will remind you of your inner strength. You have fought through plenty of things worse than this, and you will survive this to fight through even more worse things. You more than have that power. You are brave and noble, and you take it a step further by having a bite just as strong as your bark. You are the sort of person that can take a punch and yet come back swinging. You also can be a wonderful protective wall around the people you love most, doing everything you can to keep them from harm. Should you ever have to confront the face of Fear itself, this Patronus will appear to remind you that you are more than strong enough to endure anything that threatens you or your loved ones.

You are independent and a strong leader who can think quickly on their feet to avoid any sticky situation. You’re no stranger to rough spots, but you rarely come out scratched or scathed due to your sharp wit and level head. The owner of this patronus is also very creative and cunning, being able to think there way out of any situation. You never let any problem keep you down; you always hop right back up! Having a mountain hare as your patronus means that you find strength in growth. This means that you are at your strongest when you are able to look back and see how you and the ones around you have changed over time. Doing this allows you to learn your own strengths and weaknesses (for they have evolved and changed) and it also allows you to understand yourself better. Seeing where you have messed up, seeing where you moved forward regardless, allows for you to make better and smarter decisions. You’re the sort of person who loves starting new projects, because the thought of starting something new is just thrilling. Your bright, determined attitude likely has sparked both admiration and envy in the people around you, but you are more than fast enough to stay two steps ahead of the haters. You accept that people make mistakes because they recognize that people can learn and grow from them. It makes perfect sense that you have this house+patronus pairing! As a patronus, the mountain hare will be there for you in your moments of doubt. No matter how accepting you are of change, there will still be moments where you find yourself unsure. Your patronus will be there to help you see the light, to help you realize that change is good and can help you succeed. In battle, the mountain hare will help you push and fight for a new world and a new life: a brighter, happier one.

75. Nebelung Cat
The name “Nebelung” actually comes from the German word for “mist” and the two main characters of a long forgotten medieval German saga. The cat is most often described as “Beautiful, graceful, and flowing.” Soft, silky blue-grey fur is laced with silver. They are playful, goodnatured, and though they may be mild, they are extremely intelligent. They tend to bond with select few people and keep a tight relationship their whole life, but that being said, they enjoy the company of other you follow your own code and you are individualistic to the extent that you don’t need anyone else to tell you how to live your life. You’re in no hurry – after all, you certainly won’t give up until you get what you want, and those less patient and determined than you will drop like flies, leaving you to claim the prize. You also likely keep your personal ambitions and feelings close to the chest and put off an air of mystery appropriate to our house.
You prefer to know everything about a situation, and you don’t like it when something is new or surprising (like a stranger). You are strongest when you are in a place or with people that you love and understand, and you stick with them until the end. In a fight, the nebelung will be there to keep you safe from harm. While the battle might seem overwhelming or confusing at first, the nebelung will give you strength to figure it out, and once you do, you’ll be a force to be reckoned with. Should you ever find yourself confronted by terror in the dark of night, this Patronus will leap out of your wand to curl up resolutely around your shoulders like a stole. It will rest its head over your heart and warmth will flood through its body into you, and it will stare down your enemy with an unblinking, resilient stare. Its protection will be a shield so strong that no dementor can broach it. You are introverted and like to keep to your own group of friends. It’s always quality over quantity. You face every day with quiet determination, and won’t shy away from trying new things. You tend to like quieter people that you can connect with more.
You’re a reliable and supportive friend, and are always there for the people who count on you. You value intelligence and courage, and find comfort in knowledge. You probably enjoy many a good book, too! The Nebelung cat sports a different kind of bravery than most, but perhaps even a stronger one. Don’t shy away from being yourself, and always feel welcome and comfortable in your house!

76. Newfoundland
Having a Newfoundland as your Patronus means you find comfort in benevolence. You are a warm person who tends to work with soft, open hands that are ready to help others if need be. At the same time, though, your soft exterior masks great inner-strength and resolve – like most Slytherins, you are hard to crack open and get to know on a personal level. You are very intelligent and know exactly how cynical and cruel the world can be, but your attitude is that if everyone is going to be a jerk, you may as well be the exception and make a little brightness in this dark world. At least then you will have contributed something of value. When you find yourself drowning in the kind of despair that takes your breath away, this Patronus will leap out of your wand, swimming through the inky blackness toward you and helping you to your feet. Its large body will support you until you get your bearings again and will stand beside you like a guardian angel when you are finally ready to counterattack. You are determined and hardworking, and that means that nothing is going to stand in the way of your goals. You’re unafraid to face challenges, and remain confident through most of the way, but of course we all have our ups and downs. You’re attracted to calmer, modest people, rather than the stereotypical James Potter type folks. You’d rather be at home in front of a fire than out at a party, and enjoy spending time with your closest friends and family. You’re gentle and kind, and take care to think before you speak. This also comes with extreme sensitivity, and you take everything people say to heart. You seek to find the positive things in life, and are awesome at providing support to your loved ones. And as your enemy weakens, you shall happily take strength and stare him down.

78. Occamy (very rare)
You have made adaptability into an art. The ability to move into a space and take it over is legendary. A once quiet common room is suddenly filled with laughter when you enter. But when that space is threatened it’s like someone flipped a switch. No one can say you run from a fight especially where your eggs are concerned. These might be your friends, family, or anything else you might value. As long as those you care for are safe you’re a calm and jovial individual. The probability of you being found cuddled up to one of your valued individuals. You’re all probably closely knit.Having this creature as your patronus means you find comfort in flexibility. Be it in schedules, your own interests or thinking of another way, if you have no room to stretch out or change plans, you get restless, and may retaliate badly. While the occamy shows no loyalty to humans, from what we see in Fantastic Beasts, they are kind to one another, so this can be your family, friends or loved ones.

79. Ocicat
Cats in general are symbolic of independence, patience, and curiosity. Ocicats are particularly interesting as they are domesticated cats that look like tiny ocelots (hence the name). Ocicats are friendly, sociable pets, to the extent that some breeders consider them “dogs in cats’ clothing.” They can even be trained like a dog, taking to being walked on a leash or doing tricks on command. There are some ocicats that even, contrary to their species, really like water! Having an Ocicat as your Patronus means you find comfort in subverting expectation. You are unusually rebellious – you won’t be defined solely by what you are or where you come from. You are beyond individualistic and seek to push the envelope and go against the grain. You will prove yourself to the whole world by doing things your own way. When sight is denied you and gravity deserts you, your Patronus will appear to flip you right side up, curling up along your shoulders and rubbing its cheek against yours encouragingly. They have immense intelligence, but also know when a hug and support is more needed than a lecture. The oryx can teach you a lot about adapting to your surroundings, even if you are not happy with them, and being thankful for each and every thing in your life, because everything has worth. Osprey patronus owners are also very logical, they don’t do things they know they can’t handle, but when the chance of success outweighs the chance of failure, they are willing to take that chance. Your patronus means you find comfort in knowing that people are loyal to you, and it will honour this by making sure it never leaves your side when you need it, and will make sure it shows no mercy to your foe. You are confident in your abilities and need to be taken seriously, but you don’t let that take over; of course, as someone who needs to be respected, you always remember to return the favor, and you treat others the way you wish to be treated. Being alone is a typical thing people expect of those with high intelligence, as they tend to push others away by the general nature of their interests and love of study and learning, but you stand apart in a different way: you love being around people. You are someone who can blend in no matter where you are. You can be both loud enough to dominate a room and quiet enough to escape any conflict. You keep your hands clean of drama or mess and will slip out of any sort trouble with ease. When you find yourself hemmed in and blocked out of chances for escape, this Patronus will come for you. Your determination makes you a formidable opponent, though sometimes your otter may need to step in if you get distracted (as they tend to do themselves), but it will attempt to play with your enemy, tiring them out until you can finish them off yourself. This Patronus will splash out of your wand in a burst of transparent white and swim through the air around you, contorting this way and that without a trace of fear. Like the bright colours of a peacock, the personality of those with this patronus is one that tends to capture attention. However, they tend to have trouble trying to see in the shoes of others, and do not realize others can see them as very strong or intimidating. Having a Peacock as your Patronus means that you find comfort in security. You are someone who doesn’t like surprises and who feels best when you always know whenever a threat is coming. You value self-preservation and tend to chase control over your own destiny, being tied to and having to answer to no one, and this feeds into your Patronus. Your Patronus is always aware of what’s going on around you and sees everything with the utmost clarity – thus, when your emotions are spiking out of control and it’s hard to blink away the morose and terrifying darkness, your guardian can bring your vision back into focus and be your eyes. Despite their popularity with hunters, pheasants enjoy a conservation status of Least Concern. This is partially due to their highly social nature; pheasants are able to breed and thrive in nearly any environment. However, there are a few regions in which heavy efforts to introduce the birds consistently fail. This speaks to a tendency amongst certain You quickly discern and avoid environments in which you’re uncomfortable thanks to your talent with self-preservation.

You need to know there is a second out, and like your patronus, you also have a strong fight-or-flight response to issues. You can’t run from all of your problems though, so make sure you prioritise what you can from, and what you can’t. You can always run from seeing a friend when you’re tired or just can’t be bothered, but you can’t run from bills or homework! Make sure you keep your moral compass on the right path, and the horse will guide you to what you can and cannot do, and where you need to turn next. The world is calling you, so don’t be afraid to answer! You find comfort in being out in the wild, and love big open spaces where you can see for miles. Courage to face the unknown is a trademark of your house, and the horse embraces it. Courage doesn’t just have to mean facing your fears, either. The black and white pattern suggests a layered personality, you’re empathetic and always see both sides of the story. There’s more to you than you might think. If you are not passionate about something, you tend to get bored and disinterested very quickly. You love being productive and on the move, preferably in the upward direction, and also have a perfectionistic streak that makes you a wonderfully hard worker. Should you ever reach the end of the line and run out of steam and options, this Patronus will come for you, sweeping out of your wand and darting up your leg and around your shoulders. New energy and vitality will ripple through its body into you, and you will have enough strength again to grit your teeth and plow through your obstacles with fierce precision. You are no longer just you – you are a warrior, noble and true – and with the Pine Marten on your shoulder, you will be indestructible and unstoppable.

90. Polar Bear (unusual)
Those with a polar bear as their patronus are very adaptable individuals, but stubborn. Having a Polar Bear as your Patronus means you find comfort in adaptability. You can always make due with whatever you have and deal with whatever bad situation comes your way. Your guardian’s talent for strategy (which can be seen in its patient, methodical hunting) is also well-expressed – if there’s something you really want, you’re willing to wait for it. You’ll put in the time and effort needed in order to get it and keep it. Your Patronus will come for you when you are at your lowest to remind you that you are strong and capable enough to surmount the odds and make it through. Nothing can hold you down, if you don’t let it – and you are more than strong enough to tough it out and hold your head up with pride.

91. Polecat
Polecats are small ferrets that live primarily in North America and Europe, which are considered endangered (in the USA), and opinions vary depending on where you go, in Europe they’re associated with prostitutes, and in some regions, it is believed allowing a polecat to live in your chicken coop will keep vermin away, as the polecat will eat rats and other creatures who will harm your chickens from sheer gratitude. In the USA, they’re seen used in Native tribes for religious rites and food, and they’re used all over the world as fur. Having this furry creature as your patronus means you find comfort in safety. You may have once felt like the world was against you, seeing happiness seems to be getting driven out. The world is cruel, and you know this far too well, having been a force of happiness as a child, and you may now find the world makes you sad as you look at the news or seeing how people around you become more negative. You want to feel safe and happy again, and the best way to do this is to protect yourself, your emotions and your tight knit little group of people you love. This patronus can represent an owner who is extremely loving and protective over friends and family. As well as that it can represent an owner who are playful or humorous. The owner of this patronus is also very inquisitive and always looking for adventure. You like being surrounded by locks on your doors, friends by your side, and a special place to go to when things get overwhelming, your safe place. Maybe a little nook in your home or bedroom, like a cupboard to wrap yourself in a blanket or even your bed, if you’re feeling unsafe or unhappy.

92. Python (unusual)
The snake is an intoxicating animal, indulgent in their mannerisms and a drug to others. They are very personable, getting others to grow fond of them quickly. They are graceful in their expression, but very fiery as well. They make an impression fast, and they get their point across, whatever it may be. They tend to attempt hiding their feelings, seeing them as weakness, though they are incredibly emotional. This causes them to be venomous when angry, lashing out at others. Snakes are powerful symbols, and those whose patronus takes the form of a serpent tend to also be powerful people in kind. While they tend to be quiet, sometimes even shy, and not be wont to impose, it doesn’t meant that they can’t get things done.

93. Ragdoll Cat
Ragdoll cats are often referred to as the dog of cats, as they’re playful, cuddly, and tend to relax and go limp when picked up, like actual ragdolls. Those with a ragdoll cat patronus may prefer to stay out of conflict or avoid confrontation a bit more than others. A ragdoll cat is a specific feline breed with vibrant blue eyes and a long coat. They require plenty of grooming to keep their fur from becoming matted, and they are quite beautiful creatures. Like most cats, they are somewhat playful, very sly, and overall loving animals. Having this patronus means you find comfort in being cared for and being made to feel special. You don’t like conflict, but prefer to nip it in the bud so that you may move on and return to your daily life. Thus, once everything is settled, you are quite calm and able to perform to your best. It’s during times like these that you can truly enjoy life and take part in all that you like to do, whether it be relaxing at home or spending time with friends or loved ones. You love being cuddled, snuggled, hugged, kissed and literally any other touch you feel comfy with, and you love when people tell you they love or care for you. You also really love being totally spoilt, and made to feel like you’re the only person in the world someone else cares for, and it really warms your heart when you’ve been reassured. Lay off the other person though! Tell THEM you love them too! You may have a cat patronus, and therefore some cat tendencies, like wanting all the affection and sometimes not being good about giving it back, but try to spoil your friend next time, and do your patronus proud.

94. Rat
Rats are clever and resourceful creatures, which can symbolize cleverness, hard work, and success. Due to the fact that they are one of the most hunted animals, rats are extremely crafty and are top notch survivors. Having gone through your fair share of experiences, if your patronus is a rat, you most likely find comfort in being able to give advice. When friends or family members come to you for guidance, you are always willing to lend a hand. You know just what to say or do to help them overcome any problem, big or small. When they take your advice, and things work out fine (which is often), you can’t help but feel proud. You are excellent at problem-solving. Your guardian will appear to you when it feels like you have your back against the wall and there is no hope or life behind your eyes. It will scurry up out of nothingness, right up your arm, and squeak in your ear as if encouraging you. Having this little guy as your patronus means you find comfort in being left to your own devices. You love other people, don’t get it twisted, but you find you function best when you have been left alone for awhile to recharge your batteries, and preferably, with a good pile of food nearby. You definitely aren’t anti-social, or a bad person, but something about being alone is so nice, refreshing and calming.

95. Rattlesnake
Having a rattlesnake as your patronus means that you are at your strongest when you have control over a situation. You like to know where everything is, and you want people to be aware of the threat you pose. Additionally, you find comfort whenever your friends recognize that you are there. You usually have important things to say, and you always try to make sure your voice is heard!
As a patronus, the rattlesnake will be there to deter enemies whenever they get too close. One look at its glowing form blooming from your wand will cause dementors and living enemies alike to retreat in panic. If anyone bypasses its original warning, the rattlesnake will ensure that they won’t be there for long. Together, you will strike. In battle, you will be a force to be reckoned with, too quick, too deadly, for your enemies to stand a chance.
You have strong opinions and you will bite hard if provoked, but the nice thing is that you also have the ability to express idealism too. You see great potential in people and things and love the thought of making what you imagine become reality. You are truly a transformative person, because you have both the vision and the words to make things happen. Should you ever come face to face with a foe that wishes to devour your heart and mind, this Patronus will blast out of your wand, warding danger away with its menacing rattle and bared fangs. While the rattle will terrify your enemy, however, you will instead find your mind clearing and your vision becoming sharper, and you will see your triumph in your mind’s eye. Once you see it, you will then move heaven and earth to make that vision come true.
You, as the owner of this patronus, lay quietly waiting for the oppurtunity to insert some of your expertise or intelligence, you even take the chance to insert a sarcastic or witty comment. Rather than finding comfort in large groups, your comfort tends to come from independence, and confidence. As the owner, you are calm, and confident knowing that both of those qualities inspires fear in others, but much like the rattlesnake you do not attack unless you are provoked. As a leader you have a poise and a confidence that not many others do, you know you can do the job well, and you have no fear in showing that. This pairing with Ravenclaw means that you know your information, and that you are able to think of creative ideas, that add to your confidence in leadership.

96. Raven (unusual)
If your patronus is a raven, knowledge is your greatest comfort. Knowing and learning always bring you great joy, and you feel as though you can never gather enough knowledge. Just as they say, knowledge is power. Not only do you like to know things for yourself, but you take great joy in sharing what you’ve learned with those around you. Besides, what’s the point of having this head full of thoughts and facts if you’re the only one who knows them? Having a Raven as your Patronus means you find comfort in mysticism. You are a spiritual person – not meaning that you are necessarily religious, but that you are very in-tune with your inner self and the world around you. It makes it so you are a very insightful person and are sharp enough that you can easily predict human behavior. You also tend to enjoy your solitude and give off a faintly enigmatic air, which also is appropriate for Slytherin, the house that revels in mystery. If you ever find yourself blinded by depression and falling into the abyss, this Patronus will swoop to your rescue, becoming your eyes and ears and showing you the future that still awaits you. This bright and exciting future will bring the life back into your cheeks and the light back to your eyes, and you will face your present danger with the utmost confidence. The Raven can remind you that in death there is hope, as rebirth may follow soon after. You can rest easy knowing that the end of your chapter may be the beginning of someone else’s, and feel nothing to fear from fear itself.

97. Red Squirrel
The red squirrel is a feisty little animal, sporting fluffy ears, versatile hands, and an extremely bushy tail. The squirrel inhabits woodland, spending its days collecting seeds and nuts, chattering away at its neighbours, and sometimes bringing back objects that wild animals shouldn’t necessarily have. They’re naturally curious, always looking for something new and exciting. You find comfort in what you know, but won’t turn down the unknown. You’re curious and hopeful. You work most efficiently by yourself, and you’re not afraid to let other people know it. You’re most at ease when you’re expressing your own personality, and you are creative in doing so. Just because you work best solo doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy a good conversation. You might even find a little pleasure in gossip, which is to say you like to know what’s going on most of the time. People see you’re not afraid to be unique, and eager to learn. A squirrel patronus can also represent protection and intelligence. You also tend to be solitary and thoughtful, but when you are comfortable and willing enough to speak up, you can be incredibly articulate. When you’re trapped in your own head, watching helplessly as the world spins out of control, this Patronus will leap to your aid, bounding out of your wand and up your arm. Its bushy, misty tail will brush against your skin, fading away into your veins like smoke that will send a burst of stability to your heart. Then all at once, you’ll find your center again, and be ready to stand your ground. You always put your best effort in. The red squirrel may be small, but it has a big heart and mind. You’re courageous, valiant, and though your day may be packed with work and adventure, you find the most peace and harmony in a good night’s sleep, safe at home. May the red squirrel patronus protect you on whatever adventure your life takes you on.

98. Rhinoceros (unusual)
The rhino makes a sturdy, formidable Patronus, spearing Dementors on the tip of its horn or holding its ground to defend the caster. People with this Patronus are hard workers and protectors.

99. Robin
You find comfort in your connections with others. You are a cheery, positive person, who needs to be around people to feel fulfilled. You’re not extremely extraverted necessarily, but your friendships are some of the most important things to you and you value them higher than most others. You are sensitive to other’s feelings and emotions and sometimes this can be a downfall for you, but honestly you are a very strong, resilient person and usually find a way to not only pick yourself up, but also everyone around you. People look up to you for your unshakeable good attitude and kindness and you are sure to have many good friends. Additionally, you have an admirable courage about you, especially when your friends need you, but just in general as well. Your honesty, positivity, intelligence, and courage will get you far in life. A robin patronus represents stubbornness and holding strong with one’s opinion. A robin patronus represents strength and bravery as well. With that, a robin patronus represents intelligence and curiosity. But whenever those seem to fail you, remember your patronus: there through even the loneliest of times.

100. Rottweiler
A Rottweiler patronus can represent an owner who is very playful and affectionate to others. As well as that a Rottweiler patronus can represent an owner who is very brave and not afraid to stand up for what they believe in, even if it means getting in trouble themselves. They can also represent an owner who is very energetic and passionate about things they enjoy, Having a Rottweiler as your Patronus means you find comfort in protecting. You deeply cherish your inner circle and will do absolutely anything to keep them safe and happy. You don’t make friends easily, but when someone makes friends with you, you are their friend for life. You are a devoted and determined person with strong passions and a great work ethic. When you end up in trouble, however, you needn’t ever fear. This guardian will always come for you when you need the protecting for once, scaring away all threats and dangers until you are ready to defend yourself again.

101. Runespoor (very unusual)
The runespoor is a creature original to the Harry Potter universe. It is described as a orange serpent with black stripes and three heads. Each head corresponds to a different personality – the left head is the planner (which comes up with the runespoor’s ideas), the middle head is the dreamer (which tends to get lost in its own daydreams and remains the most stationary of the heads), and the right head is the cynic (which critiques the ideas of the other two heads). Apparently it is not uncommon to find a runespoor with only two heads, as sometimes the first and second heads will bite off the third because it’s being too critical, though a two-headed runespoor will not live very long. Snakes, of course, are a pretty standard symbol to associate with Slytherins, being symbolic of change, fertility, healing, energy, and the duality of good and evil. But more interestingly it has been hypothesized that runespoors in particular are representative of writers – one part of the writer is the logical planner, one part is the imaginative center that dreams up all the magical flights of fancy, and the last part is a never-ending self-critic who never sees their writing as good enough. Having a Runespoor Patronus means you find comfort in push and pull. You are a multi-faceted and complex person and you don’t just listen to one internal voice, you listen to several…and that’s okay! You know that way that you’ll never be fenced in or pigeonholed. That flexibility and versatility is reassuring because you’ll be able to face whatever comes your way. This is what the runespoor appears to tell you – you have the energy and the capability to think your way out. It is a healing presence that says just what you need to hear – whether it be encouragement, idealism, or a good old smack of reality – to keep fighting.

102. Russian Blue Cat
Having a Russian Blue as your Patronus means you find comfort in complete trust. A Russian Blue Cat patronus can represent an owner who is very intelligent. As well as that this patronus can represent an owner who is untrusting of new people, and takes a while to get trust new people. Though untrusting of strangers, they blend well with others, and are respectful and kind to everyone they meet! You are a cautious and distrustful sort, and so you choose your friends very carefully. The nice thing about this, though, is that those precious few who do earn your friendship are true diamonds in the rough. And knowing your bond of trust runs that deep and true means the world to you. You know they’ll always be there for you, so they will become your moon and stars – you will do anything and everything for the sake of their happiness, just as much as you fight for your own. Should you ever find yourself in free fall and the night shattered by horror and despair, this Patronus will gracefully leap from your wand to your side, and the gentle fur-like mist of its body will brush up against your skin, sending a wonderful rush of reassurance through you. Your guardian is as strong as the trust you place in your loved ones. Since your trust is stronger than anything else in the world, your guardian is utterly invincible.
