Normality Again
Chapter 11
All of the friends had been summoned to Dumbledore's office. Eloise was safe and sound with her friends and Ella was now a fully functioning human again. The friends all had to admit, despite being upset that she was petrified, it was pretty funny that she was petrified as a cat. The friends who'd gone down to the chamber were now fully healed. None of them could work out what was going on.
"I expect you're wondering why I've called you here?" Dumbledore asked. All eight murmured their assent and Ella raised her eyebrows as if to say "No, really?"
"Well arrangements have to be made for the summer holidays," Dumbledore explained.
"Is there no chance of us going back then?" Rhianna asked sadly. Dumbledore put up a hand to silence the girl.
"Hold on," he said. "You can either stay here, or I can send you back."
"Well why would we want to stay?" Lucas said angrily. "I want to go home!"
"If you go back, you will have missed a few months and it will be around Christmas," Dumbledore continued. "Now, I might be able to make a spell at a later date that will send you back to the moment you left but it might make you miss even more of your normal lives."
"We'll go back at Christmas," the friends agreed.
"This spell will also modify everybody's memories so that they won't remember that you weren't around for months," he finished.
"So when do we leave?" Ella asked.
"In two minutes," Dumbledore said. The friends looked around. They were sure they'd never come back. They'd already said goodbye to their character friends as they'd left on the Hogwarts express that morning.
"Good luck," Dumbledore said. He waved his wand with a non verbal spell and the friends found themselves in their tutor-room.
"What day is it?" Ella hissed to Eloise. Eloise looked at the whiteboard.
"Monday," she replied.
"And the time?" Rhianna asked.
"8:36," Ella smiled. It felt good to be back.
