Godric Gryffindor

Chapter 2
Godric Gryffindor was a powerful wizard and one of the four founders of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. He valued Courage and Bravery. Godric was also in favour of allowing muggle borns into Hogwarts. His portrait still hangs proudly within the towers of Hogwarts. Gryffindors birth of date was unknown but he was born sometime around 993. He came from a moor in the small west country village in England later renamed Godric's Hollow after the wizard himself. Gryffindor was known as a master duelist. He also had a tremendous skill in wielding a sword which allowed him to battle muggles fairly. Well then using his wand to duel other wizards. Godric was unique, But there are others who shared his desire and determination for magical greatness. He befriended a young wizard named Salazar Slytherin and together, the two became very close friends and gradually, became known as two of the most greatest wizards of all time. It was at some point after this that they became acquainted with Rowena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff - two of the most powerful witches in existence. Collectively their knowledge, power, wisdom and skills were so great they founded Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Godric appeared to be quite selective of his house members when choosing, just like Rowena Ravenclaw. Both of them choosing students based on their own values. Gryffindor said to of phrased Courage, Determination and strength. According to the sorting hat he selected students for his house based upon their Daring and Bravery. He was also one of the most in favour to teach muggle borns. According to Albus Dumbledore the qualities that Gryffindor prized where Daring and Bravery. He chose Red and Gold for his house banner and his house is symbolised with a lion.
