Chapter 3
Esmeralda stepped outside. It was dark, but she would find her parents and Ferdinand. She would. Someone had kidnapped them, and Esmeralda had no idea why. She shuddered. It was cold, and very lonely. But she edged nearer towards the woods. Through them would be the quickest way to town, and that is where she reckoned that the horrible person who had kidnapped her parents and Ferdinand would have probably took them.
She walked into the forest. Then she began to run. Once she tripped over, but she got back up and started running again.
After a while of running, the trees were thinning out, and Esmeralda stopped to have a breath.
