How Is A Black Hole Created?

Chapter 2

Before you learn how a black hole works, you must first where it comes from. Black holes can't be created unless gravity does the job itself, and the only object that produces that much gravity is inside the largest stars. When stars 10 times heavier than our sun die, they set off a massive explosion called a supernova.

But some stars are even bigger than that!

These "Supermassive Stars" weigh 100 times more than our sun and have 100 times more gravity. When one of those stars die, they set off the biggest explosion in the universe called a hypernova!!!!! A hypernova blows off more energy than our sun would make in a billion years! What you have is a new black hole, and two jets of energy hurtling in the air at the speed of light. Those jets of energy are called Gamma Ray Bursts. Gamma Ray Bursts only last a few seconds long, and they fry anything in their way. Take the Solar System for example. If their was a gamma ray burst in the region of our solar system, the gamma ray burst would literally vaporize it.

And that is the birth of a black hole.
