Christmas
Chapter 15
It was almost the christmas holidays, but nearly the full moon as well. I wondered over to the fat lady. Unlike my unusual greeting of the fat lady, I saw the maruaders. 'Someone's early,' I laughed. Remus looked worried. 'Hey, what's going on?' I asked him. He pulled me over to Sir Cadagon. 'The others insist on joining me in the full moon tomorrow.' he said. 'That's tomorrow!' I said, shocked. He looked at me questioningly. 'Oh yeah. They can't come, but. The full moon is tomorrow!' I said once again.
Today seemed longer than normal. I just got out of potions with the Slytherins when Sirius ran up to me. 'Kaila, urgent.' he said. I followed him to his common room. I saw the marauders sat on the sofa in a squeeze. Sirius walked over to the table and sat on it. A laughter rose when the table began tilting forwards, and Sirius fell off it. 'What was so urgent?' I asked him. 'We need to decide what we're doing for the holidays. We can all stay here, or go home.' he said. 'When is the break?' I asked. 'Next week.' he answered. 'Well, I've got to go home. The 'muggles' are waiting,' I said. 'That settles it. Christmas with the muggles,' James said from his seat.
I waited in the Shrieking Shack, like normal. I watched at a black dog crept out of the tunnel. I watched as it slowly transformed into Sirius Black. 'Oh, you're here as well.' he said. 'Yeah, why wouldn't I?' I asked. Then I remembered, the marauders had no idea I was a werewolf. 'What's your animigus?' he asked. 'Oh uh, cat. Yeah, cat.' I answered. 'Let's see,' he replied. 'Oh uh, can't. Waiting 'til Remus shows up,' I said.
We waited at the other marauders arrived, each asking me what I was doing here. Eventually Remus showed up. 'Moony, you won't believe it!' James said. 'What?' Remus said, looking out a window to see if the moon was full yet. 'Kaila's an animigus!' Sirius exclaimed. 'Yeah! She's a cat!' Peter added. I rolled my eyes as the other three started chatting about my 'animal form'. I looked out the window with Remus. 'It full,' he said, stepping into the centre of the room. I watched as James turned into a stag. 'Go on, show us your animigus,' Sirius said. I looked to see Remus had already transformed, and I knew it wouldn't be long until I did to. 'I uh,' I tried making with an excuse, but I felt the wolf taking over.
The transformation was longer than usual, or so it felt. I saw the looked of horror on the others faces. I no longer recognised who I was. Until, all of a sudden, I remembered. It may have been that potion the potions teacher offered me, I think it was called wolfsbane or wolfsbone. I felt free. Then I remembered. Remus wasn't in my potion lesson, he was in charms with the Hufflepuffs, so he didn't have any of the potion. 'I looked at him. He was scratching the walls. I felt a soft, fur coat. I looked down to see a grey tabby with square glasses-like markings around her eyes. 'Hi,' I tried to speak, but I could tell all I did was howl. I heard a second howl from behind me. I ignored it though, I knew it was Remus.
