1ST SEPTEMBER
I held onto the chair as Professor McGonagall placed an old, worn hat onto my head. Suddenly it sprang to life as it began to speak to me.
"A young Muggle born. A great fit in Hufflepuff, yes. Great mind and very determined. RAVENCLAW!!!"
A table full of blue robes and black hats cheered as I rose from my chair. Each table cheered in turn as the hat switched from student to student. Eventually, the feast began. I felt awkward. Students turned to eachother as a roar of chatter rose. I suddenly regretted sitting alone on the train.
The feast was finished and only a few students came to talk to me, probably because of pity. I followed my prefect up the grand staircase. I was pretty alarmed when It moved, but I was the only one. After a while, I sat in my room. After unpacking, four over students walked in. They seemed happy to be in the same room. The buzzed with exitment and joy. The room was silent as they unpacked. I wanted to speak, but instead I opened my trunk, and began writing in my diary.
