Jack and A.j looked over to where the voice came from. It was a boy a little shorter then A.j.
“Yeah sorry I interrupted you. I just over heard what you said so I thought I should say something...” Jack looked at the boy close, he had brown hair with blond streaks and brown eyes. He was wearing a dirty blue sweater with the hood up and had ripped jeans. He looked like someone they all knew but they couldn’t figure it out.
“I’m Mathew.” The boy said smiling as he pulled down his hood. Jack then said.
“I’m jack and this is A.j.” He points to A.j. “So what did you first tell us?”
“ umm well, that A.j was not the first to fall in love with sam. And yes I know I’m weird, but being gay is not bad! It’s just lonely when almost everyone hates you for it.”
“Well A.j is gay but I’m still his friend so don’t worry it’s fine.” Mathew, A.j, and jack talk for a long time until max came up and hit jack.
“Hey what was that for!” Jack exclaimed.
“we have to go!” Max replied dragging him all the way home. For the next few days the boys became great friends and they hanged out a lot. School then came up and the three boys waited for Mathew to get to school. They went to class, he maybe was early and was already there. They walked in class, Sam and the bully were there. The two boys were talking and Mathew was with them. But he was just sitting on the ground looking away from them. His hood was up and covering part of his head. He then saw the group and switched to a scared expression. A.j then grabbed jack and Max’s arms and ran out of the room. But before they got away max could swore he saw Mathew mouth “thank you”. After missing class, all the people were leaving school and A.j wanted to talked to Mathew. Jack and max waited by the fence. A.j walked over with a gloomy expression across his face, only jack didn’t notice.
They boys got on the carriage and no one talked.
No one looked at each other until jack asked “hey A.j what did you want to talk to Mathew about?” A.j shifted in his seat and looks over to jack.
“you know how both me and him are gay?” A.j starts.
“Yes” jack answers smiling, knowing where this might be going.
“well after talking to him for a long time I started to have f-feelings for him. I was going to tell him about it and...” he stopped.
“And what?” Jack asked. This was getting very interesting to him.
“he told me he liked me but he said ‘I am so sorry but I want you guys to be safe so I can’t...’ and the then ran away crying...”
“What did he mean?”
“well, remember he was with the bully and Sam?”
“Yeah. What about that?”
“well sam told the bully that Mathew was a nice sweet boy and kept talking to him...”
“How do you know what he was doing?” Jack looked very confused at his friend.
“Well I saw him and I heard him do it. I guess the bully wanted someone to love” max replied. They got off and started walking to A.j’s house. Jack and Max’s mom and dad are not home so they weren’t allowed home yet.
“So hold up, you’re saying that our friend Mathew, the Mathew that is so kind is...” Jack asked.
