Chapter two: after school
Chapter 3
“If you like him you should at least be his friend, a.j” Jack looked back and saw his brother and his friend.
“Wow jack you look bad...and pale! you look like you have seen a ghost.” A.j. said to jack.
“Well schools over so why don’t you come over?” Jack asked A.j.
“And bro I told the teachers that you were sick, so you will be fine and we can talk to mom and dad about it later.” Max told everyone. “So why are you bleeding?” A.j asked as jack told them the whole story one what just happened.
As they were waiting for the carriage to gets their, Jack finally finished the story. “Wow, that’s really weird.” Max told him as he gave jack a napkin to keep wiping away the blood that was still coming out. A.j groaned as he looked at jack’s bleeding nose. “What? Is it broken or something?” Jack asked. “No, it’s just of all the blood coming out. That’s really a lot. I am surprised how your still bleeding but your nose does not look to be broken.” A.j explained as jack and max just shrugged. The carriage got their as everyone got on.
“Hey the jerk’s not here, there is so much space!” Some girl said snickering. The boys did not talk in the carriage. Soon the whole bus was in silence. Everyone was looking at jack, max, and A.j.
“Umm did we do something wrong?” Max asked.
“Your brother is really skinny and doesn’t seem to be able to see correctly, you look like you barely have actual clothes and your face is not really straight, and your friend’s teeth are crooked.” A boy said. Jack looked even more uncomfortable after that remark.
Then suddenly someone said, “That’s wrong?” Every one looked who said that and saw it was Alex. She was wearing her mask again. Lots of small whispers went around.
“You all are so sickening to me. Judge me if your going to judge everyone else even that jerk... What about your friends and family. Do they all ways look perfect? Did they need braces or glasses when they grew up? Do you have any of those? All of you complement me. But I hate it! We are so much more than what you see on the outside!”She said to everyone.
Lots of girls gasped.
“And I am not done.” She continued. “I know that you guys will be so freaking mean and angry at your friends or anyone, if they look different!”
“But you never take off your bandanna, you have no right to say those things!” A girl told her.
Alex looked angry but calmed down.
“How about I take it off? I heard most of you think I look ugly under it and that I just hide it.” She said all of that while taking off her bandanna.
When it got off everyone but jack gasped. Her brown eyes showed fires of anger. But max noticed something that no one else did. In Alex’s eyes were small pieces of red. Like her eyes were red, or turnoff red. “Maybe this will show you all. You will never see my eyes again so be happy.” She put it back on and was still standing and still looked calm but she was tense. Everyone looked scared and one boys said to max,
“you must be so lucky, Alex does stand up for everyone but taking off her mask is very weird. Your brother must be very close to her. Her friends don’t even know about what she looks like under her mask.” Soon everyone got to their stop. Every single one got off speechless.
