Dear diary…
Today I was at a protest. We were peaceful. We were harmless. But we were united. I think that is what scares the police the most. The fear of us overthrowing them. Because together we are stronger than they will ever be. They are affraid off losing their power to us, when we only want them to use it for good. I have never been more proud of my black brothers and sisters. We stood together and would not let anyone tell us we don´t belong her. We are risking our lives just for coming her. And there were still so many of us. And I am proud of my white allies, using their privilige to protect us. It gives me hope, seeing us together. But then I almost lose it again, when cops start shooting at us. My brother got shot today. He was hit by a rubber bullet. But he was lucky. He was only hit in the knee, and will not have permanent damage. We were able to get him help quickly, and he was fine. It hurts to think about the fact that I concider that lucky. Whilst if it was a white man it would have been a crime. That is why we fight. That is why we will not give up until we get what we want. What we want is not to drag everyone down with us. We only want equality. And if that is not worth fighting for, I don´t know what is.
