The family all drew silent, looking at each other. Thoughts were rushing through Atlantis's mind, one rushing past faster then the other. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, causing everyone to jump. The silence dragged out. Then Atlantis got up. Her mother grabbed her hand firmly.
"Atlantis," she frantically whispered. "Perhaps it's just the mail, Mother," the girl said. Anna stood up too.
"Mom, I'll go with Atlantis, alright?"
"No!" Atlantis snapped sharply. She thought of an idea. "Then Mom and Dad'll be alone!" "Well, so would you!" "Then Mom'll come with me and you and Dad'll stay here, alright? No trouble!" "Right, no trouble. No trouble at all!" Anna said sarcastically. One glare sent from Atlantis shut her up and she sat down.
"Fine."
Their father looked at his wife and Atlantis. "Be careful, alright?" "It's only our house, Dad. But of course we'll be careful," Atlantis says.
She and her mother went out the dining room into the front room and saw a pile of letters on the mat. They sighed in relief and picked up the letters. Atlantis's blue eyes fell on a single one, the envelope's color was red and it felt sticky and wet. In horror as she realize what it was, she screamed and dropped the letter and all the letters she had been carrying. Her mother jumped.
"What is it, Atlantis?! Is everything alright?" she rushed.
Atlantis pointed at the letter with a trembling finger.
"L-letter, c-c-covered in b-blood!"
Anna and her father came trampling out, upon hearing Atlantis's scream. "What's going on?!" Anna cried. She sees the letter on the floor and gasped. "Isn't, isn't that fricking BLOOD?" she exclaimed. Her father stared at it. Atlantis nodded faintly.
Anna, being the kind of person she is, carefully picked up the letter, wincing as the blood tainted her hand, and opened it. A small piece of paper fell out. She knelt and picked it up, then read it. There was only a few words written, but each word drove itself into her skin with goose bumps forming and a coldness spreading mixed with fear.
The note said,
Morgan Le Midnight, born on August 8, 888
The first Midnight girl to be born, giving birth to the second Midnight daughter, Megan Fay Midnight
She's going to come
