Godric Gryffindor
Chapter 1
Godric Gryffindor is one of the four founders of Hogwarts. It gave its name to one of the four houses of the school. He was the most accomplished duelist of his time, a fervent partisan in the fight against discrimination against Muggles and the first owner of the famous Magic Sorting Hat and the Gryffindor Sword.
Godric Gryffindor was born in a village that now bears his name, Godric's Hollow.
Godric Gryffindor is described as a courageous, bold and strong character. He never really liked Salazar Slytherin (see chapter 4) because the two did not fight the same values. He was friends with Rowena Ravenclaws and Helga Hufflepuff. Godric Gryffindor believed that anyone with magical abilities should have the right to enter Hogwarts.
During 1993-1994, a portrait of Godric Gryffindor kept a secret passage from Hogwarts leading from the entrance hall to the seventh floor: the password to access it was "Star bursts".
