Chapter 1
Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare – S.P.E.W.
This organization was founded in 1994 by Hermione Granger. It was a response of some kind to the injustice in the treatment of house-elves. Hermione believed that house-elves should have better work conditions.
She tried to get support from several people, but only managed to get it from Ron, Harry, and other fellow Gryffindor students, that only accepted and paid the two sickles, required to join, to make her stop asking them. She also tried to get support from Hagrid, but he didn't agree, saying that the house-elves like their work. Afterward, she found out that there were house-elves working at Hogwarts and she started knitting hats and socks and left them all over the Gryffindor Tower, hoping she could free some of them. She didn't see that most of the house-elves liked their work and that they felt insulted by Hermione's actions. The house-elves refused to clean the Gryffindor Common Room and Dobby was the only one doing so.
After leaving Hogwarts, Hermione joined the Ministry in the Department of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, where she continued to fight for the house-elves.

Muggle Quidditch, or Wizard Quidditch?
Muggle quidditch is quite different from wizard quidditch because wizards have enchanted balls and magic brooms! So how do muggles play without these essential things? Well, to score points, chasers or keepers must get the quaffle, (a slightly deflated volleyball) into one of three of the opposing hoops, which scores the team 10 points. To impede the quaffle from advancing down the pitch, chasers and keepers are able to tackle opposing chasers and keepers at the same time as beaters using their bludgers—dodgeballs—to take out opposing players. Once a player is hit by an opposing bludger, that player must dismount their broom, drop any ball being held, and return to touch their hoops before being allowed back into play! The game is ended once the snitch is caught by one of the seekers, awarding that team 30 points.
So you see that the team is awarded only 30 points when the snitch is caught whereas in wizard quidditch, one is awarded 150 points for the caught snitch! Now it’s up to you to decide which one’s better: Muggle Quidditch or Wizard Quidditch?

The Triwizard Tournament
The Triwizard Tournament is taking place here on HiH this year! There is one champion from each house since everyone goes to Hogwarts. On June 10th the second task scores were up with Ravenclaw in the lead. Ellie Smith and Emma Lloyd Waston have been planning this whole thing! There was even a wonderful Yule Ball a few weeks back and now in 2-ish weeks, there is going to be an Award Ceremony. Here’s the group link:
