Once we were reaped, me and Luke headed to the train. As we walked out of the backstage area, we got a glimpse of everyone in the stands holding up the three-finger salute. Me and Luke hold it up as well, earning us a glare from Effie. Me and Luke are slightly luckier than everyone else, having last year and the year before winners, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark as coaches as well as Effie Trinket and, of course, Haymitch Abernathy. Thing is, none of them, not even Haymitch, knew about my big secret. Only mom knew that, and she died at the hands of the peacekeepers, just like dad and Toby (Mine and Haymitch's brother) while Haymitch was in the Hunger Games.

As soon as we were on the train, I secretly slipped a piece of paper to Haymitch by taking his hand for a second. On the piece of paper, I had written the following: 'is there anywhere on this damn train where the cameras aren't watching us?' Haymitch smiled, looked at me and shook his head slightly, before balling up the paper and throwing it into the bin from the other side of the room, earning a tut from Effie. For some reason (I think I was hysterical from the shock) I found this really funny and burst out laughing. Soon, Luke joined in, and his laughter was infectious. Haymitch started chuckling along, then Peeta and Katniss came in. Seeing us all laughing, and Effie stood, shaking her head and looking disapproving, they joined in too.

After a while, Haymitch grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the bathroom.
"Ow! What are you?" I started, before Haymitch interrupted me with a
"Shush! I just remembered, there are no cameras in here for privacy reasons. Why did you want to go somewhere with no cameras anyway?"
