WAVE.
written by ✧Aurora Lovecraft✧
Aurora Lovecraft's "Wave." is a three-part allegorical narrative based on a personal struggle with bi-polar depression. In less than 1000 words paired with absorbing soundtrack, the haunting nature of a battle with mental illness is conveyed through an anonymous girl's frightening encounter with a universal fear - drowning. (Not recommended to a younger audience due to sensitive themes)

Safe?
Chapter 3
The crisp, mellow evening air fills the crevices of the maple-colored sand amidst the deposited shells and dried seaweed. Among the other items washed-up from the tide lies the girl. Slowly, but surely, consciousness revives itself and she strains to lift her head from out of the debris. Her fingers grasp for the rocks in further attempt to steady herself. She finds herself standing on familiar, yellowish tile flooring, using her left arm to prop her body up against the granite kitchen counter, and holding the half-dialed phone in her right hand. Her hair is not soaking wet, but completely dry in its daily top knot. The only moisture is the droplets of sweat on the back of her neck. A few feet away, the sleek sink faucet softly drops a delicate drop of water,
drip by drip.
It whispers, "Until next time."
