Leona always tried her hardest to grow all of her plants and keep them healthy. She had her herbs, her flowers, her spices and cooking ingredients. She had her poisonous plants and her dangerous ones. The only plants she didn't have, and she never planned on having, were alien plants.  She never wanted a species, other than the ones that grew there, around her precious plants, so she did everything she could to ensure that no alien species invaded. She knew that alien species were very harmful to environments in which they didn't naturally grow, which was why she tried her hardest to keep her plants safe from them. She had read numerous books on the subject of alien species as well as the Gardening Effect in the field of Herbology, so she knew all of her facts from those books.

The Gardening Effect showcased the negative perceptions of the herbological world, but Leona thought the herbological world was a wonderful place and dismissed the Gardening Effect.  She just focused on her plants and her love for her boyfriend, her pets, her friends, and all things herbological.
