The Beginning
Chapter 1
Leona woke up feeling refreshed, her boyfriend still sleeping next to her. She got out of bed and made her way to her greenhouse, just outside and to the back of her house. She pulled her wavy/curly light blue hair back into a single braid and tied it off with a hair tie as she walked. She was still wearing her pajamas, a red nightgown with black trim, but she didn't care about that, she cared about her plants and her boyfriend. Her pets also joined her in the greenhouse. One was a large, green frog, which was large enough to sit on, named Ponder. Her other pet was a male snowy owl named Feliks. Feliks roosted on a nearby empty table and Ponder, nicknamed Froggy, hopped over to an open space and watched. Leona brushed her blue bangs out of her eyes and took out her wand, laying it on the table in front of her. Her wand was ten and three quarter inches long, made of ebony wood, had an unyielding flexibility, and had a unicorn tail hair core. Also on the table in front of her were a pair of fuzzy black earmuffs, a pair of dragon-hide gloves, a mask, an apron, a bottle of centaur tears, and some dittany. Luckily, she had managed to put her boots on before walking out to her greenhouse, since closed-toed shoes were recommended when working around things like this. Underneath the table were two bags, one being dragon dung and the other, mooncalf dung. All of these items were essential to an herbologist for both safety and care of the different kinds of plants, both magical and mundane.
Feliks squawked as a blond haired boy entered the greenhouse. He was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants, but no shoes. Ponder hopped over to him and stared at him, as if communicating via a mental link, though Ponder only shared a mental link with Leona. He walked up to her and embraced her from behind.
"What are you doing in here, Princess?"
"Just taking care of my plants and taking stock of my supplies. I have enough soil to last me and my equipment is in good shape, though if you're going to be in here, perhaps I should invest in a second set of safety equipment for you, hmm?" She said the last part with a little giggle.
"I don't think you need to go that far, Princess." He giggled a bit as well. "I only went to go find you, since you left me alone, sleeping in bed."
"I needed to check something."
"I'm sure you did, and I'm also sure it could've waited until later. Right now, I want to cuddle with you and not let you out of my sight."
Leona blushed, her entire face red.
"B-But, I have so much to do here. I-I can't just-"
"You can leave it and come back to your work later. This is almost as bad as when you've locked yourself up in your office, writing reports that you just file away."
"I write those reports for my own sake. I need to stay informed of the goings on around me, so I put them in a daily report and file them away for future use."
"Just come back to bed, Leona. Your plants will still be here, waiting for you." With that, Tarrance left the greenhouse, leaving her alone.
Leona took one look at her equipment and walked out of her greenhouse, Ponder and Feliks following her as she walked back to her house to get some more sleep.
