I Saw Him Again

Chapter 4
The last night wasn't any better, I had a panic attack for 10 minutes. It has been decreasing ever since I met her. She has been helping me with things and it has been nice. I haven't felt anything like that before. Actually, I have, when I was a kid of seven and had fallen down from a swing. My mother had hugged me and told me that pain is what makes you stronger, pain is important to keep improving. It applies to the mental pain too but I can't imagine what would have happened if she wasn't there to hug me. Maybe I would have cried till the tears stopped coming out. At least that's what I did when I was alone.
"Wake up, Idiot!" Emily shouted and threw a pillow at me.
I jumped and looked at her, "What the hell are you doing here?" She was wearing a black sleeveless top with blue jeans. Her blonde hairs were tied into a bun. I had or more like she had forced me to give her the key to my house the day I had cried. She had said that she didn't believe me so she needed the key so she could check on me whenever she wanted. I still don't know why she cares so much about me, I'm just an idiot who wants to die.
"Oh, me. I'm just here to remind you that you have a job to go to. God, James I had to go through some trouble to convince my father to keep you as a waiter in his cafe." She said and sat down on the bed, looking at me.
I rubbed my eyes and sat up, "Yeah, thank you for that. I'll just go and take a bath." I just glanced at her not smiling.
"Oh, bath." She smiled and elbowed me saying, "Want me to join you, in case you are planning to drown yourself?"
I laughed, it made my heart light and it ended with giving me a smile. "No, I'll be fine."
"I'll go and make breakfast then." She got up and as she was leaving the room she turned, "If you had said yes, I would have joined you, you know." She smirked.
I walked at her with a grin and said, "I think, I'll just drag you in."
I laughed as she ran away saying, "In your dreams, James." I smiled and turned to the bathroom.

I returned to the table wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. I sat down in front of her, she had already placed the food on the table. My eyes rolled to look at her, she was eating silently. Her cooking silks were the best, at least it was better than mine. I turned back to my food and started eating.
"When are you going to start to talk to new people?" She asked, not even looking at me as if she knew my answer.
"Never!" I said slowly and continued eating.
"You did talk with me." She raised her eyebrows.
I nodded and replied, "You had asked. I have realized that I just needed a person to ask me in the right way." I looked into her eyes and continued, "You said all the right things to melt my walls." I looked away after saying that as it felt weird. She is just my friend but sometimes it feels like we are more than that.
"I understand. It's ok." She said and finished her food. "You better go to the job and clear the dishes, I'm not your maid." She stood up and walked to her purse.
I smiled lightly and looked at her leaving my house. I finished my food and took the dishes to wash them. Soon, I left for the job.

In the evening, I felt like taking a break. I had thought of never talking to anyone and here my job is to talk with people and be kind to them. It's funny how life plays with you yet I'm happy. I'm happy that I could meet her.
I didn't know that this happiness wasn't going to go forever. It ended when I saw his face. Ted Jones, a former friend of mine, my partner who betrayed me in the business. He was wearing a suit which made him look like a fair man. He wasn't at all. I felt like breaking his face when I went to him to take his order.
He turned to me and grinned, "Look who we have here, how are you, my friend? I thought you would have killed yourself by now but seems like you are still not giving up." He laughed.
If I punch him, I'll lose my job but I guess it would be worth it. I clutched my fist.
"You know, the girl you had a crush on, she is coming here right now." His smile was getting more evil, he was enjoying this. "Oh, and she is my girlfriend now. Didn't I told you, buddy, you can get anything by money." He laughed.
I didn't believe him, I was going to punch him when she entered and said, "Hey, James how are you?"
I didn't know what to say to her, I was already miserable enough, why did she have to be here? That question was answered soon after. Ted stood up and kissed her, he looked at me as if showing that I couldn't have anything. It was true but he was just using her. However, I couldn't do anything. I turned around and even though I was about to break down, I worked. I was trembling but I held it inside, I had the whole night to break things because I couldn't break his face.
