Chapter 4
After school, Gaby and Zoe walked to the park, just as they'd planned. It was warm and sunny, and the girls felt at peace just being outside. They sat on a nearby bench and watched the children play, and they started talking.
"I heard there was a new quiz online called 'How Well Do You Know Me?' Do you think we should try it?" Zoe asked.
"Sure, why not? I think we'll get pretty good scores."
"Alrighty, then," Zoe pulls out her phone. "Let's get started." She starts the quiz and reads the questions aloud. "'1. How long have you known Gaby?' Well, that answer is obvious. '2. How often do you see Gaby?' Every day. '3. Do you trust Gaby?' What kind of question is that?! Of course I do! '4. How often do you fight with Gaby?' Never. '5. How much do you have in common with Gaby?' Almost everything, but we have differences, of course. '6. How much do you know about Gaby?'" she turns to face her. "How much do I know about you?"
"Almost everything."
"There are things I don't know?"
"Well, yeah. I mean there's no way you could learn everything about me in a few weeks."
"Okay. What do I not know?"
Gaby took a deep breath. "You know how we kind of just stared at each other when we first met?" Zoe nodded. "Well, that was because..." She hesitated. I can't tell her. "I'm not used to meeting new people, and you looked really nice."
"Oh, well thank you," she said, trying not to sound suspicious as she turned back to the quiz. "Where were we? Right. '7. Do you enjoy being with Gaby?' Duh. '8. Does Gaby annoy you a lot?' Absolutely not. '9. Do you trust Gaby with your secrets?' #Always. '10. Do you talk to Gaby every day?' Yes. I got... 94%! Your turn!"
Gaby took the quiz. She got 95%. I feel bad for lying, but at least she doesn't think I'm a freak.
