Over the next few weeks, Gaby and Zoe got to know each other, gradually getting over the awkwardness of their first meeting. They became best friends almost immediately since they spent most of their time together. They were almost inseparable. They would walk to each of their classes together, ride the bus together, work together on most of their projects, stand up for each other if one was being bullied... It's like they were connected somehow.
"So, what are we doing today?" Gaby asked.
"Hmm, maybe we should go to the park after school," Zoe suggested.
"You read my mind." They both giggled.
However, Gaby was careful not to touch her. If I saw her memories again and stared at her like the first time we met, Zoe might think there was something wrong with me. There is something wrong with me. I just don't want Zoe to find out. I don't want to lose my best friend. But it was only a matter of time before Zoe realized that Gaby was hiding something from her.
