Okay, the first thing you're probably thinking is, "What is a hippophile?" Well, I can tell you, of course. A hippophile means a horse lover, look it up for yourself. Anyway, I'm not going to tell you about the story - read and find out! Thanks - btw, if anyone likes my book, it would be a pleasure for you to say, because I love your feedback! Thanks again!

The Girl
Chapter 1
All was silent except for the shot of a gun and trees waving in the wind. The girl glanced out of the window and sighed. She lived in an orphanage - the worst place to be. I mean, it was okay, except for the cook, who was always bossing people around. Now she was calling the girl - well, Freya.
Freya sighed again then stood up. "Coming, Cook!" She tumbled down the stairs and then suddenly Rose was at her side. Rose was Freya's friend. She had been since Freya had come to the orphanage. Then she stopped suddenly and said to Rose, "I don't want that horrible... muck!"
"Freya! Don't say that!" exclaimed Rose. "You mean the food, but it's all we've got."
Rose and Freya walked into the dining room, but it wasn't a nice one. It was dirty. The tables were sticky and bits of dirt was on them. Once Freya had actually spotted a slug on the table. She had promised to herself that she wouldn't sit there again, or at any of the tables, but she had broken it. Cook would get very angry if she saw that Freya wasn't there. She did hate Freya because she always was so naughty behind Cook's back and made faces at her whenever Cook passed by her. But in return Cook would bury her hands in flour then touch Freya's hair and even worse, she would sometimes make Freya let her whack her with her rolling pin on the head. But there was one nice lady in the orphanage who was called Miss Raven. She would tell Cook off terribly for doing such things to a child. Freya liked Miss Raven.
When Freya had ate her 'horrible' breakfast, she stood up and said loudly, "Cook, can you cook - ha, something else for once?"
All the other children gasped. No one had dared to say something like that to Cook. But Freya just grinned.
"Freya, sit down - and why would you say that? Do you want to get hurt again from her?" gasped Rose.
Freya just continued on grinning.
Cook turned and said, "Who said that?"
"Me, I did," said Freya.
Rose gasped.
"You cheek!" roared Cook. "How dare you!" She suddenly started to jog up to Freya, waving her rolling pin, but Miss Raven was there. "Don't, Cook," she said quietly. "Leave the child to me." She turned to Freya and whispered, "Please, Freya, don't make any more trouble. Look at what happened yesterday."
Freya nodded and sat down, but whispered in Miss Raven's ear, "I just asked for something else!"
Miss Raven looked stern, but Freya thought that she glimpsed a little smile. Then she left.
Cook glared ferociously at Freya, but Freya smiled happily to herself.
