Chapter 3
"Peeves! Peeves!". Jack's voice was echoing through the unusually silent corridors as he chased after the Poltergeist. Peeves were ignoring him, floating slowly towards the Great hall. "PEEVES!", Jack shouted. His blood was now boiling. He broke a few knuckles, and walked over to the poltergeist, who was now frozen, staring fearfully at Jack. "Who did it?", he asked, trying to grab the poltergeist. "D-Don't know.", Peeves said, shaking. "Peeves, you better answer me truthfully, or I will make sure you're banished from this castle.", Jack said, the nerves around his palm showing clearly. "A man. A man wearing b-", Peeves gulped, "black. He told of some prophecy. A prophecy about 17."
Jack froze. A prophecy about 17. His Timetable. "Peeves! Come with me!", he shouted, stopping the Poltergeist from floating away. He grabbed the timetable from his pocket. He always trusted one person with everything. Whatever he hid, only one person knew it. McGonagall. He signalled Peeves, and both of them walked/ floated towards the Headmaster's office.
"Jack, why didn't you tell me this before?", McGonagall asked. She was clearly stressed and scared. A drop of sweat made its way across her forehead. "We're going to have to close the school if this happens aga- Longbottom?". Both of them were surprised by prof. Longbottom running into the office. Jack turned around. He was now sweating heavily. "Another Gryffindor's been killed.", Neville said, panting. McGonagall got up, pushing her chair aside. She glanced at Jack, and back at Neville. "Professor Longbottom? A-Are you serious?", Jack asked, shaking. "I'm sure. The ghosts have found another body in the Forest. They have also found a Gryffindor Prefect badge."
