Chapter 2-
Chapter 2
They had been in the woods for a day. Luna and Alex had been on scavenging duty, looking for berries and plants they could eat.
“This is so hard,” Alex complained, and Luna rolled her eyes, teasing him.
“Don’t be a baby, come on, it’s almost nightfall!” She said, pulling Alex along as she jogged back to the camp.
Then she heard a scream.
It was raw, painful, the agony evident as it rung in their ears. Luna and Alex looked at each other for a second. Then they sprinted to the source.
Luna didn’t care about the branches and plants that tore at her legs, and she arrived before Alex, to see Aella and Skylar hunching over something. “What is it? What’s going on?” Luna asked, as Alex arrived beside her.
“It’s Felicity.” Aella said shakily, stepping aside.
Felicity lay on the ground, blood pouring out of many wounds. It looked like bites, giant bites, and she was unconscious. Luna approached slowly, the horror fresh in her mind. “We can’t treat this. We need to get back to the school!” Skylar said.
It was unanimous. No one disagreed. “I’ll get the other five.” Alex said quickly, as Luna ripped the bottom of her shirt and started pressing it to the wounds, panicking and unable to think straight. What had attacked her?! What was going on? We’re the main thought in her mind. It was a few minutes until Alex arrived back, looking terrified.
“Alex?” Luna asked, worried.
“They’re not there. The camp isn’t there either. And the contact device isn’t working. We’re stuck here.” He said, trembling.
“No no no. What do you mean they’re not there?! The contact device must be working!” Skylar looked like she was about to faint. “Alex. Stay here with Felicity. We’ll try to find camp.” Skylar said a second later.
They searched for an hour, everywhere possible, but nothing could be found. Not a stick out of place let alone a tent. They were alone.
