The send off
Chapter 1
Luna rolled her eyes at her best friend, Alex, as they chartered excitedly about the exam. Her stomach was full of butterflies, but she was excited to finally graduate once they had finished the final exam.
They were gathered at the starting point, all then of them in the last exam group. They had to survive in the Forest for a week using only their gifts and a limited number of supplies. Everyone she had talked to said it wasn’t that hard, and it was hard to fail, so Luna felt pretty confident. She stepped into the back of the cart along with Alex and the eight others, as the driver passed round blindfolds. They would be dropped in a random spot in the woods, so they couldn’t cheat. She shouldered her rucksack and took a deep breath as the blindfold was fastened over her eyes.
“Off we go,” came the driver’s croaky voice, and they were off. The journey was long, probably four hours, but Luna wasn’t sure because she had fallen asleep for a large part of it. It stopped aruptly and their blindfolds were taken off. They were in a large clearing, with a red X marked on the ground. That was where they had to make their camp. As they got off, the driver sped away within seconds, leaving the ten of them alone in the clearing. “Well... I guess we make camp.” Said a blonde haired girl who Luna knew as Felicity. Her friends, a girl named , who had dark olive skin and brown hair and another named Aella who had curly black hair and light brown skin, nodded and started taking the tents out of their backpacks. Alex nudged Luna and they started unpacking. It would be a busy day.
