Chapter 2
In terms of academics I have had a somewhat varied education. It was always down to me to do what I needed. I had very few friends and no siblings that were able or willing to teach me. Before starting secondary school I was introduced to a young girl only a few years older than myself. She was a student and came from the a similar background and had similar powers to me. We were both very creative and transfigure the world around us. It was my teacher who introduced us. I already knew a boy in her class and I had it on good authority that she was a nice person. Even though at the time, I found her to be a little strange, we shared similar ideals because I noticed that she saw the world differently to other people, like me.
Up until this point in my life the only role models I had had were male, notably my uncle, as my parents were unfortunately no longer around. She was the first female influence of my life and I found it to be incredibly inspiring. I looked up to her because she showed me that my ideas could unlock new boundaries, that inspiration could be taken from different places and that I could have fun with it that it didn't have to be as strict as the boundaries set at home. She told me to express my feelings through the sound, light and colour that I could create and that was so liberating. It was as though so many things had been bottled up inside me, because that was how I had been brought up to be, and now I was expressing them with every fibre of my being. Some things like drawings I hid in my room in secret but sometimes you can't help it explode out of you like music.
I believe that without her help I would have been cold, lost and probably very lonely. Perhaps forever wandering and searching because my family do not have such creative thoughts. They are very logical, rudimentary people who have a background in alchemy, psychology and literature. Not that I condone it in any way I just always feel that it was never in my nature, and never in my nature to follow the course that everyone else is following. Whilst I can also be logical, my main talent has grown through creativity, which isn't something they understand.
A few years later I realised that I wouldn't have managed to achieve all that I have achieved without her because she is always a constant image in my head. She has shaped the person that I am today because she showed me that you should have confidence in yourself and not be afraid to stand up for yourself on occasion, regardless of the risks. Our brains are naturally overly charged but together are able to create a force greater than we ever imagined. She brought much to my life and I hope I was able to do the same in return.
