The Sorting Hat
Chapter 4
They entered the Great Hall, feeling hungry and their stomachs rumbling loudly.
“Please take your seats at your house table. Until the Sorting Ceremony has finished, we will begin the Welcoming Feast,” said Twilight.
Shivering, they entered obligingly. Suddenly warmth spread to the very tips of their fingers. The Great Hall has four tables with millions of students sitting there. Floating candles made the Great Hall dimly lit, and looked extraordinary. Far at the end of the Hall, was the teachers table.
Hagrid, the Care of Magical Creatures teacher, was large and had great tangled, white hair, while Professor Twilight, who taught Charms, and the Head of Slytherin, was leading on the new first years who looked positively terrified. Professor Longbottom, taught Herbology, and he was Head of Gryffindor, a sour man in dead black robes, whom Celestia did not know, but judging by his looks, he was probably a rude man as he scanned the Hall with utmost dislike. Professor Lupin or everyone prefers as Aurora, teaches Defence Against the Dark Arts, just like her grandfather she says. She was a Ravenclaw, seeing as she was very smart, not as smart as Professor Spring, who was Headmistress and she could literally read minds. She also taught Transfiguration, but students always wondered why she wasn’t in Ravenclaw, since now she was a Hufflepuff. More teachers and professors scattered around the table, looking elegant as ever.
“It is now time for the Sorting Ceremony to begin,” cried Twilight.
Celestia’s stomach was aching with hunger.
“Zeller, Aventurer!”
A boy who was scrawny and tiny ran up to sit on the stool.
“SLYTHERIN!”
Gryffindors were scowling and Slytherins were cheering on. Celestia suddenly felt as if she was a first year too, and she was being laughed at. Phoenix saw the expression on her face and he shrugged sadly. The tiny boy sat next to Phoenix.
“I hoped this wouldn’t happen. My whole family are Slytherins and they think pure-bloods should rule,” he murmured to himself.
Celestia put a hand on his shoulder.
“It’s fine,” she said. “Not all Slytherins are terrible. Well, I know Slytherin has a bad reputation and all, but now we continue to live in peace, right?”
He nodded gloomily.
“We both are Slytherin outcasts. Everyone here in Slytherin thinks we shouldn’t have been Sorted into this house since we don’t think that pure-bloods are the best people ever or something,” smiled Phoenix encouragingly.
After the Sorting was finished, food magically appeared on their golden plates and they all dug into the food happily.
“That was a close one wasn’t it?” Phoenix asked.
Celestia did not have to ask what he meant. “Yeah, thank God Akko wasn’t there!” Then, she felt the realisation dawn over her.
Akko wasn’t there!!!
