2: Hogwarts: A Confusing Home for a Niffler!
Chapter 2
This is the Niffler’s point of view!
The girl called Celestia counted down the days for September the 1st. I wondered why she would always do that. Apparently today I have got the answer! Celestia put me in her pocket. I have always liked this place. It wasn’t exactly shiny for me, but it was nice and cozy. I enjoy the girl’s company. And when she gives my tummy scrubs! We went on a train, a red one. It was sickening! Red is a disgusting colour, why not make it gold? Everyone would think it would look beautiful!
Celestia put me out on a table. Large sweets were making my tastebuds go hungry. I went even hungrier when I saw a pretty silver colour on the back of a Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans! I squeezed it, ripped it out, then suddenly, a number of beans flooded my surroundings! I tasted a funny grey one, the opposite of silver. The boy called Phoenix was laughing, Celestia was scolding me, saying not to rip out silvery things. But it’s my nature! I squeaked. I honestly can’t understand why she can’t understand ME! She looks at me soo confused when I try to point something out. I think I make myself pretty clear at this point.
Suddenly, I felt as if a fire was spread in my body. It rised up to my throat making my tongue burn! I felt completely like I just went berserk! Well, I think I did actually go berserk! I ran around knocking all the giant sweets around me, when finally, I saw a bottle of water. I dived into it. Ahhh... the relief.
Suddenly I felt the train stop.
“I think we are here,” said Phoenix.
I looked out the human-sized window and saw a great, big castle. It was pretty. But not shiny enough! Celestia scooped me up and put me in her pocket. She crammed som beans into the same pocket I was in. Preposterous! I will not try another one ever again! But then something shiny hit my eye. It was supposed to be dark in here, but I could see a glowing, golden bean! No I shouldn’t, I thought. But it was too irresistible! I lunged over it, licking it. It tasted like a golden pudding I thought I tried before at Celestia’s house. Maybe these beans weren’t so bad after all. Cold air filled my beak. What’s that? I climbed up and took a peek. Gasp!
Hogwarts is bigger than I thought!
Behind me, another girl gasped. I looked around. A tall girl with a big ugly mean face pointed at me. Then she turned to her friend and whispered frantically. I’m pretty sure I glimpsed her before...
She ran to the professor and whispered into her ear. Then pointed at Celestia. I had to flee!
