1: Akko’s Fate

Chapter 1
Celestia Mellowfarm was a very unusual girl. Her whole family, in Slytherin, a very dark past indeed, she was always forbidden to ask questions about how her parents had died. She felt like Harry Potter, who had also been oblivious about his parent’s past. She was brought up by her grandmother, a very nice woman who was ashamed of her daughter who had married a man who was right in Voldemort’s inner circle. Celestia always thought that if she was in Slytherin, she would be hated and everyone would probably predict that she would become a Dark witch.
Celestia was a Slytherin the moment the Sorting Hat had touched her head. Only Slytherins were clapping and polite applause from the Hufflepuffs but ultimate dirty looks from the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw table.
This year, she would be starting her 3rd year. The class she was most looking forward to was Care of Magical Creatures and Astronomy. She was going to Diagon Alley to collect her new books for the upcoming classes.
“Are you ready to go, dear?” asked her grandmother.
“Yeah! I just have to find my scarf it’s seriously cold out there...” Celestia cried out back.
Once she had gotten ready, she approached the fire cautiously. This was her first time travelling by Floo Powder.
“It’s alright, dear, just tuck in your elbows and remember where you want to go.”
“Um.. okay..”
She entered the fire hesitating and expected to feel like her bones were on fire. Instead, a pleasant graze of warmth filled her body.
“Now say it, come on.”
She was coughing as she said it.
“D-diagon *cough* Alley!”
She was twisting and twisting until... WHAM!
She hit her head on the wall.
“Where am I? Grandmother?”
Snickering boys and girls were passing by.
“Look at her!”
“Haha!”
“Grandmother?” said one of them in a squeaky imitation of her.
“Shut up! It’s not funny!” she said regaining her conciousness.
“Oh it’s just Celestia. A failed Slytherin.”
“Yeah she doesn’t deserve to be a Slytherin.”
Celestia turned around and saw who was teasing her.
Jennica’s Slytherin gang.
Jennica Meliflua was much taller than Celestia, had a mean, ugly face and was the most evilest person at Hogwarts. Her great grandmother had once came banging into the Ministry of Magic, demanding to make Muggle-hunting legal, from what Celestia heard.
The gang included Mike Sanderson, short, fat and stupid, Narnia Nott, trying hard to look elegant and royal and Brianna Foldernutt, who had long nails which was used to scratch people who offended her.
Celestia was ready to throw a punch at Jennica just when her grandmother came in to make the moment even more humiliating.
“Honey? Oh Celestia! Darling I thought you were lost! What are you doing here in Knockturn Alley?!”
The gang was fighting down sniggers and were walking away, making dumb faces behind her grandmother.
Her grandmother was now brushing off loot from her face.
Squeak.
Celestia turned around automatically.
Squeak. Squeak.
“Shush!” She said to her grandmother you was babbling loudly about how Celestia could have been hundreds of miles away.
The sound was gone.
“GET OUT YOU FILTHY CREATURE!!!” said a booming voice that made the both of them jump.
A man was running around like a lunatic, one hand with his wand, another aloft with a pan. He was attempting to hit the creature who was clutching a golden bracelet with red rubies on it. A small notice fell out of his pocket as he chased the creature.
Celestia picked it up.
***WANTED NIFFLER***
A Niffler has been stealing valuables! Last sighted: Knockturn Alley.
Prize for catching: 100 Galleons.
“Wow, 100 Galleons!” Celestia said.
“Don’t you go in here, okay? There’s a lot of sketchy people in Knockturn Alley...” her grandmother scowled.
They went to Flourish and Blotts to buy new books for Celestia. While her grandmother was trying to find Divination: An Essence Full of Wonder, Celestia crept out of sight, pretending to find her Astronomy book, Planet Gazing: A Quest. She ran to Knockturn Alley once more, and searched between the shops.
“There you are freak.” The man grunted. Celestia’s eyes widened and she followed the voice. She saw a dark corner with the rusty man in rags.
“Avada Keda-“
“STOP!!!” Celestia yelled with all her might.
The man stopped and turned around, his eyes blazing with fire.
“Can’t you see I’m teaching this little bit of scum a lesson?” He growled.
“I know but can’t we turn it in to the authorities??”
“What’re they gonna do? They’re gonna give it a luxury life instead of what it should deserve for stealing something I had to pay and arm and a leg for!”
He turned back on it.
Then, several things happened. The man was yelling “Avada Kedavra” when he was yet interrupted again as Celestia said “NO!” then he got Stunned.
“Man, he’s got quite the temper.”
Celestia turned round and saw that her best friend Phoenix, was smiling at her.
“Why are you here?!”
Phoenix was a very tall boy, who was also a Slytherin outcast. His family, were all Death Eaters, which were all killed by Aurors. He was now brought up in an orphanage, until he was 17, he could leave.
“Thought I’d see where I could find the Niffler,” he said.
“No! We can’t hand it in to the authorities! They’ll probably kill her!”
“I didn’t say I wanted to hand it in. I just wanted to see it. I mean, in real life, saying as I’ve never even seen one.”
Celestia scooped up the Niffler. It was fully black, though his fur was so shiny and silky it was white from the light.
“I’ll call her Akko.”
She tugged at the bracelet and put it next to the Stunned man.
“There. He can have that back,” grinned Celestia.
Celestia and Phoenix went off to Flourish and Blotts. Celestia quickly hid from her grandmother.
“Oh, there you are! Did you find your Astronomy book?”
“Ummm..” Celestia searched the shelves and quickly found the Astronomy book. “Yep! I was taking so long since I met Phoenix,” she said in a hurry.
“Oh hello, dear,” she smiled warmly at Phoenix.
“Hello, Mrs Mellowfarm.”
Once they were finished shopping, they went to Phoenix’s orphanage to ask permission whether he could stay at the Mellowfarm’s house. They were quick to accept.

“Oh this is so much better than that orphanage,” laughed Phoenix.
Celestia sat on the end of Phoenix’s bed. She took out Akko, who was fast asleep.
“I hope she isn’t a trouble maker. Well, we’ll have to keep her a secret if she’s so wanted,” said Celestia.
The evening passed amicably as Celestia was counting down days until September the 1st (Hogwarts train).
Akko’s eyes flew open.
“One more week and off to Hog-“
CRASH!
“Akko!”
Akko had just bounced off Phoenix’s bed and launched on the dresser, and was aiming to jump on the golden hanging mirror.
“ Akko, no!”
Phoenix was rolling around in laughter.
“Ugh! Oh shut up, Phoenix,” said Celestia as Akko had jumped on her face, making her lose balance and fall on the floor.
September the 1st was drawing nearer and nearer.
“Dinner time!” Called Mrs Mellowfarm.
“The table was set beautifully with flowers. It was the Mellowfarm tradition on the last night until they went to Hogwarts.
She was setting spaghetti on Celestia’s plate.
“No, grandmother, can I please have mushrooms too?” Asked Celestia as she was passing round a bowl of mushrooms, and skipped Celestia.
“Why? You hate mushrooms.”
“Umm...” she looked round at Phoenix for support.
“Tastebuds change every 7 years,” he said hesitantly.
Celestia slipped some mushrooms and some strands of spaghetti in her pocket for Akko to eat.

Akko’s fate began to change as she met Celestia...
