Hufflepuffs and Slytherins: The Unexpected Friends
Hufflepuffs and Slytherins are commonly friends, or rather, can be. One of us is a Hufflepuff, and one of us is a Slytherin. We had a conversation about the odd pair of friends Hufflepuffs and Slytherins can be, and we’re recalling it here:
It all began with this:
Nadetta, the person in charge of all the internships, gave us an assignment to write quizzes for future Hogwarts Daily News articles, and Alii responded with something that sparked this idea of ours!
Alii: I'll try… I'm better at quizzes, but I’ll try.
Celeste: It's ok, you can do it! You should ask Nadetta but maybe you can just do quizzes if you are better at them. I mean, who doesn't like quizzes!?!?!
Alii: Haha, that right @Celeste! Thanks
Celeste: Ur welcome! Also maybe give articles a try! Maybe you will like it or you have gotten better at it without knowing?? I don't know just trying to be positive!!!
Alii: Yeah Ok! And this is why Slytherins are friends with Hufflepuffs!
Celeste: Oh you know what? that is a good idea for an article!
And that is how this idea of the Hufflepuff-Slytherin friendship article came about! So now, here is our conversation about the topic:
Alii: So, let’s see… Why do you think Slytherins can be nice and why do you think Hufflepuffs and Slytherins are known as good friends?
Celeste: Well, just because they are Slytherins doesn't mean they are mean. They are ambitious and that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are mean and rude. In fact, I am ambitious too, and yet people don’t judge me for being ambitious, but many people think that just because they are in Slytherin, they are mean. It is more of a stereotype that Slytherins are mean, and I think that judgement is not true, and frankly, stereotypes are just putting people into categories, and I don’t like that.
Alii: Yes Celeste, that's true. But I think the reason is, people believe Hufflepuffs to be idiots. They think there stupid and that's why you are friends with us Slytherins, but truth be told, i'm stupider than any of the Hufflepuffs I've seen. In my opinion, Hufflepuffs are as smart as Ravenclaws. Again, a stereotype.
Celeste: Yes, and thank you! But no one is stupid okay, no one is stupid!!! Also, yes that is probably one of the reasons why people think Hufflepuffs are friends with Slytherins. But I think that Hufflepuffs are commonly nice and they see positive things in everything, and everyone. We are most likely to comfort someone in need because to us (or at least me) Slytherins are just people like me. I think Hufflepuffs are likely to not judge based on negative rumors and stereotypes. So if a Slytherin is in need, Hufflepuffs are probably the most likely to comfort them. (not saying that everyone else is mean!) So I think that is why Hufflepuffs can be extremely loyal friends to Slytherins and Slytherins can be great friends to Hufflepuffs.
Alii: Agreed Celeste!
So, that is our conversation. We hope you enjoyed reading this article, and maybe you agree with our reasoning! Thank you for reading!

Care for Magical Creatures
Why choose to teach Care of Magical Creatures: I grew up on a Crop farm, and was raised by two creature lovers, so it was only natural that I was also a creature lover, which heavily influenced my career path.
What's the best part of teaching CoMC: The most wonderful part of teaching this course is being able to share my knowledge of the magical creatures with those who are interested.
What are some responsibilities of owning a magical creature: There are a variety of responsibilities one should consider. Can you adequately care for the creature, to include providing the appropriate food, shelter, and enrichment? Can you devote the time needed to this creature? What are your responsibilities to the wizarding world when keeping this creature? All of these questions show the responsibilities of a creature owner.
Do you have any magical pets: I do! I have several Fwoopers that I collect feathers from and sell to specialty quill stores.
Is there a creature that some witches/wizards have that you would not recommend having as a pet: As wanted as they are, I recommend not owning a dragon. It is illegal, and the majority of wizards simply do not have the appropriate training to safely handle such a creature.
How do you manage to grade and take care of creatures: I just work to balance my time between my tasks.
What is your favorite magical creature: I would have to say Fwoopers, though Crups hold a special place in my heart.
