Chapter 8
I sat at the great hall, a bit of egg hanging from my fork. I wasn't hungry. the night before with Remus was so good, but now we had to go home. I wouldn't see him for eight weeks. I would write him letters every day, I thought. and, if James' plan works, I might be able to go visit him. I was silent brainstorming animals when Remus walked through the doors. He sat down in the seat next to me and looked up at me sadly.
"We only have one day left,'' he informed me solemnly. I smiled
"then we better make sure that it is the best day ever."
After breakfast, Remus and I went to the library to return some books. I handed Madam prince the book and she looked at me suspiciously, so did Remus.
"True Animagus Forms? what do you need with that?"
"What DID I need with that," I said, "I already got what I needed, now I'm putting it back." he was still confused, so I changed the subject. "what are your plans for the summer?" his face lifted.
"I'm going on a week-long vacation to America, to learn about the witch trials!" I groaned
"it's not even school and you are still obsessed with learning things." he grinned
"well, you never know when it can come in handy."
after the library, we went down to the forest with James and peter. back in the first year, we built a platform high up in a tree. we went there and sat on the chairs we made out of stumps.
"so. last day," said James.
"Yep. looking forward to the summer!" responded Peter. Remus smiled at me, but it looked more like a cringe.
"is the plan on for you two?" I asked James and Peter, who both nodded.
"What is this plan?" Remus sounded annoyed.
"We can't tell you!" answered James. "it would ruin the surprise."
"ok. on a scale from detention to prison, how much trouble will you be in."
"none if no one finds out." peter said
"But how much if someone does?" he asked tentatively. Peter, James, and I just glanced at each other, but that seemed to give Remus his answer. "no."
"yes," we said together.
"phase one is already a go. you can't stop it now!" shouted James. he grabbed a broom that was up there and jumped off the platform. "do you remember when we stole these?" he asked as his broom started tilting left. "these school brooms really suck. you can't fly straight on any of them!" after he said that, the broom dropped from the sky, James landed on the hard ground and groaned. "the charm must have worn off." Remus, Peter, and I roared with laughter.
