I felt a hand stroking my hair and whispered conversation around my bed. I didn't want to open my eyes, but I knew I had to. I remembered everything that I wish I could forget. My eyes fluttered open to see Sirius sitting next to my bed, James, and Peter at the foot.

before I had time to register anything else, I heard a shout, and my eyes were obscured with a mess of black hair. awkwardly, I lifted my arm and rested it on his shoulder.
"your awake!"
"I guess so."
"what do you remember." I thought about it. I don't want to remember.
"Remember what? why am I here? where am I?" I dIdn't want to remember. maybe if I pretended i didn't, I would forget.
"you... you fell. from the astronomy tower. a-and it was my fault. I'm sorry." tears were welling up in his eyes. I knew he was sorry.
"it's ok. I'm fine."
"it's not ok. I could have killed you."
"But you didn't. so it's fine." it wasn't fine. but I wanted it to be. so bad. "anyway. I don't remember." Sirius smiled at me and pressed his lips to mine. I didn't care that everyone was watching. I missed him.
