Chapter 5
‘Philosopher’s stone?’’
‘’Hmmm..No’’
‘’Chamber of secrets?’’
‘’Watched it too many times’’
‘’Prisoner of Azkaban?’’
‘’Can we watch something other than Harry Potter?’’
‘’No way!’’ Why doesn’t she appreciate the magical creation with the name of Harry Potter? It is truly the best book and movie series. Maybe she can’t see the hidden factors laid beneath each line, as we go through the character’s emotions and figure the true meaning behind the story. Wow, that was awesome. Good job Evelyn. You deserve a bowl of pasta for that.
‘’Oh no. It’s 9pm. I promised my parents I’d be back by then. Sorry girl. Bye!’’ The room was filled with silence as she left. I looked at the photo frame on my desk. It was me, my mom and my dad. We were at an amusement park. I hadn’t been on any rides I was eating ice cream. Mom wouldn’t stop riding the roller coaster. She loved it, whereas I was the opposite. Dad did too, but not as much as her. After mom finally got off, we took a picture.
My thoughts were cut short when somebody knocked. Is it Laura? Maybe she had left something. I opened the door to find not Laura , but Isabelle. ‘’Hey’’ She walked right in and sat down on the couch. ‘’So, we’re watching Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban?’’
We ended up watching YouTube. But after a few minutes, Isabelle said she was bored. We went out. She didn’t say where we were going, but I just followed her. ‘’You like books, don’t you?’’ she suddenly asked. ‘’Of course. They’re amazing’’ She stared at me, like she was reading my thoughts. ‘’Why? There must be a reason why you like them so much’’ I did have a reason ‘’They let me escape from the real world. The one that is so tiring. No thoughts. Just peace. I don’t have to think about how I’m going to study 12 chapters in 1 hour. Or how I’ve been having cereal for an entire day. Or about the fight I had with my friend. No problems’’
After I finished, Isabelle stared at me intently. Then I tripped and fell.
