Chapter 5
We're running to the platform We're gonna be late because the Blood Traitors apparently don't know how to tell the time. I bound through the barrier just before the boys. Lilly went first and then it's me. Lilly hugs Mummy Blood Traitor goodbye but I just snub them and board the train. I find a compartment on my own. The door slides open.
"Have you seen Harry or Ro-" Mudblood Granger starts as if reciting it. "Oh it's you."
She slams the door shut and stalks off. I pull out my sketchbook when suddenly Lilly comes in with Ginny.
"Unfortunately everywhere else is full, so we're joining you. And, no, we're not asking; we're joining you," Lilly says. See what I mean? Lilly's being absolutely horrid! I screw up my nose and turn to my art. I draw a crude picture of the Weasleys.
"Here," I say, kindly. Ginny looks skeptical and takes it. She gasps in horror.
"You're absolutely horrid you know?" Ginny says.
"No, I'm just not a traitor," I retort.
"Bet you're a Slytherin," Lilly says.
"Hope so," I shoot back. She glares at me.
I have to walk in with the first years, it's so embarrassing! Either way, now we've left the boats I'm being shepherded into the "Great Hall" by a filthy half-breed. The hall is so dull. Beauxbatons was amazing.
"First off, we are going to sort a Beauxbatons student who will be going into her second year," McGonagall explains. "Brodeur, Caitlyn!"
I walk up with my nose in the air and I hear the hall break into whispers of Slytherin.
"Gryfindor!" the hat says immediately. I sit, stunned on the stool a bit longer. McGonagall ushers me off but I stay. I grab the hat back from her and shove it onto my head again.
"Gryfindor," It says exasperatedly. No, no , no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! I walk in shame to the Gryfindor table. Nobody speaks to me.
