Surprise!

Chapter 1
"Mum, please, no!" I beg. "I don't want to go!"
"But, darling, you know it isn't safe here in France anymore!" she says, shocked that I don't seem to realise the importance of this.
"Please! You know I can look after myself!" I plead.
"You are going to Hogwarts. This isn't up for debate," Dad tells me firmly. "Now you and Lilly are leaving in an hour by floo. Go get your things packed."
I run upstairs into my room. I can feel myself succumbing into tears. I put my fist in my mouth to stifle the sobs.

Leave Mum and Dad? Leave my friends? Leave our house and everything I know behind?

I can't do this! Furiously, I begin to grab everything that isn't fixed to the wall and shove it into my handbag. Dad put an undetectable extension charm on it last summer when we went on holiday. I look around my room and realise this could be the last time I see it. This could be the last time I see my family. I'm not ready for this. I go into my en-suite and splash water from the basin onto my face. I look up into the mirror and move a lock of hair from my face. There, I don't look like I've been crying now.

I head downstairs and embrace Mum and Dad. Lilly comes bounding down the stairs looking ecstatic.
"When will we see you again?" I ask them.
"When it is safe," Mum says softly. "Now you are both going to stay with the Weasleys who ha-"
"The Weasleys?" I ask. Mum nods looking confused. "I have to stay with those Blood Traitors!"
"Caitlyn Brodeur!" Mum yells, disgustedly. "I don't know when you started using such nasty words. It is disgusting. We are no superior than anyone else. These people are accepting you as their own child!"
"We are superior," I remind them. "We're Purebloods. Why shouldn't we be proud? These people associate with Muggles. Muggles, honestly!"

I don't get what's wrong with my parents. They hate me using terms such as Mudblood and Blood Traitor, but these people, they aren't like us. Muggles are Muggles. They are pathetic! I think magic should be kept within magical families. I am perfectly justified to call them these names because they are an embarrassment to the Wizarding society.

"I will not tolerate this language young lady!" Mum screams at me. "I have found you a nice family who are willing to look after you, mind you be grateful to these wonderful people."
"It's time, they live at the Burrow," Dad says. I walk straight past them and grab my floo powder. I put it back in the pot when I feel the guilt eat up at me.
"Bye Mum, Dad," I choke. I hug them both and then pick up my floo powder again. I stand in the grate and drop in my floo powder, "The Burrow!"

I feel that horrid sensation and feel like I'm about to throw up. I come hurtling into the Weasleys' kitchen.

"Hello," says a motherly figure who I can only assume is Mummy Blood Traitor. "I am Mrs Weasley, you can call me Mum if you'd rather."
"Caitlyn," I say. I am not going to be nice to this Blood Traitor. She holds out her arms for a hug but I just turn away. I see Lilly fly out of their fireplace.
"Katie!" she exclaims as she runs to give me a hug. She turns to Mummy Blood Traitor and smiles warmly. "Are you Mrs Weasley? Thanks for letting us stay!"
I see two boys run into the room. They look about my age. One must be one of the Blood Traitor children. The other I recognise. He's obviously not a Weasley. Instead of flaming orange hair, he has messy black hair. He has round glasses in front of his luminous green eyes.
