Mandrake
Chapter 11
M.o.M Classification: XXXX
With my earmuffs and dragonhide gloves ready, I begin the dangerous hunt for some Mandrake due to an increase in the number of people that have been petrified in recent months. My search takes place on land which used to belong to a lord who was known for hanging peasants when they were unable to give him a tithe. The tops of the plant are similar to tobacco, and thankfully that is rare in the region so it should be easy to find them if they are here.
After several hours of looking I believe that I have found a field where they are growing. As I pull the first one out of the ground with my dragonhide gloves on, my earmuffs blocks its scream but I can still see its mouth wide open. However, a few seconds later it soon closed its mouth and it went limp. Looking around I could see a squirrel in the distance that looked like it just died. While I was sad for the squirrel I figured that it was better than the countless dogs that would be killed before the invention of Aquatandisu Potion.
As I continue to harvest them, I make sure that the soil in the containers that I replant them in is heavy with 3/4s the plant's weight in water. While most of these are going to the ministry to cure petrification victims, one or two will also be sold to be used for sleeping potions and love potions that are being made by a cousin of mine.
